Sound settings?

Just switched to a Droid from the WM HTC Touch Pro 2. I like it rather better than the TP2, but there are some features I miss. For one, the TP2 had an "Automatic" sound level setting -- it would ring, but switch to vibrate mode when the calendar showed that I was in an appointment. Very cool. Is there a way to implement this on the Droid?

In the Market you'll find an application called "Vibrate During Meetings Widget" that will do the same thing for you. It's not free, but that's the only one that I'm aware of at the moment. Someone else may know of a free program to do that. I use a program called Timeriffic to manually set my ringer schedule, so you might want to check that one out too.

Locale will do exactly what you're talking about. Scan this QR code with your barcode scanner to go straight to the download page :) It will also silence your phone according to GPS position if you always want it silent in a certain location.

Wasn't Locale free before? I just looked it up in the Market and it says $9.99...I'm sure I've downloaded and used it before and I certainly didn't pay for it.

It sure was free! Big jump up to $9.99. I wonder if us free-users will get upgrades and get "grandfathered in". I don't recall the last time it updated. I sure use it to silence my phone during work hours and and at night as well as turning on wifi at certain locales but $9.99? I don't think so without investigating alternatives.

oh well i guess just the ones who got it free have to back up their version and us who didn't get it lost out.

Nah, I never needed it before. No way I'm paying $9.99 for it now.

On a side note, your avatar is really creeping me out...
