i applied it to my droid before i read it was pretty useless unless your a *nix user DOH. oh well hopefully will get OTA update soon :)

By the end of the year this will be huge. This phone has so much promise once it can be modified.

Hmmm... I was under the impression rooted phones don't get OTA updates.

I would wait till something worthwhile comes out, but it's exciting none the less.

hmm. :scratch: you realize you won't get OTA now. you'll need to grab the update.zip and force update yourself, to get to 2.0.1

i figured as much so im applying the manual 2.0.1 update now. :twisted:

Everyone please be careful with the rooting. It's exciting news, but I've talked to someone that used it on 2 droids and now both droids cant receive or make calls. This is only one person, but I think it might be wise to hold off until more info comes around.

Crisis averted, the person I was talking to got both phones working again, but still, use caution with the rooting. I would actually recommend just waiting for the update over the air at this point since there's really nothing to be gained from the rooting aside from having the update a couple of days early.

Just curious, what makes you think that rooting the phone doesn't allow OTA updates?
