How to do a full factory reset?
Ok, I can do a factory reset either by holding the power and home buttons and then pressing the search button and then selecting factory reset... OR going through the setup menu and then Privacy and then Factory reset.
the problem is after doing that and activating account, the phone seems to download some of the apps and set the wallpaper to what it was before. I would like to reset completely back to how the phone was when I bought it.. NOT with the apps and wallpapers back. I log into the marketplace and see the 5 apps or so that auto download and install. what gives? anyone know how to do a full true reset to factory? thanks |
Re: How to do a full factory reset?
Before you do the reset, go to settings/privacy settings/automatic restore & uncheck that box.

Re: How to do a full factory reset?
Ok, figured it out!
when you do a factory reset, make sure NOT to sign in with google when it first runs through the setup, just skip. Then finish the setup and once done you can go to gmail and sign in. Also, once you open the Android Market, you will need to sign in, but dont fear the apps dont install when you do. hope this helps someone.. enjoy |
