Hey Jethro, quick question... In doing this..

Launch skyfire instead of opera on the internet tab: I figure this myself
Ok, first DL the file I attached below.VJbrisk.exe
Put it on windows and rename it to operaL.exe (backup ur operaL.exe)
Now, Make a shortcut of skyfire. U can use resco for this. (remember, making a shortcut is different from copying the file)
after U made the skyfire shortcut, rename it to VJTarget.lnk and put it on windows folder.
Go to M2D internet tab and launch the browser. U'll be surprised it's skyfire.

It seems as though it disables Opera since you're basically using it's OperaL.exe file to start skyfire. So now I can't run Opera AND skyfire. Is there anyway to be able to make Opera work still? I think I read somewhere that someone said they installed opera on their memory card. Will this allow me to run opera? Or will it still install the OperaL.exe in the windows folder on the device, thus causing a conflict with the renamed Skyfire exe file since it's now renamed to OperaL.exe? Do you know what I mean?

Or can I just rename the actual OperaL.exe backup to something like Opera.exe and have it work? I'm gonna try this and see what happens. Doubt it's that simple but we'll see.

UPDATE:
Ok seems as though it is that simple. What I did was create a copy of the ACTUAL/Original backup copy of Opera's OperaL.exe file and renamed it to just "Opera.exe" without the "L". I then placed this back in the \Windows folder since it's now not conflicting with the "modified" Skyfire version of OperaL.exe in that folder since they have different names. I then created a SHORTCUT of the Opera.exe and put it in the start menu programs folder. I also renamed the Skyfire shorcut in the start menu programs folder to Skyfire since it was still named "Opera Browser" by default. I now have access to both Opera AND Skyfire. The only downside to this is that Skyfire's icon/logo is showing with the Vjbrisk icon/logo. Pretty sure there's a app or something that can change that but gotta look for it.

OK, Ur on the right path. I have the same suggestion with opera. since U did it already. It's all good. Now the skyfire. The vjbrisk.exe that was renamed to operaL.exe should be in the windows right? OK. Make a shortcut of skyfire and rename it to vjtarget.lnk then put it on windows. In that case, Skyfire in the starmenu is untouched. So why do U have a vjbrisk icon on the start menu?

quiqness, Ima explain how U can do it without issues if U wanna do it again. 1st, rename ur original operaL.exe in windows to opera.exe. make a shortcut of that renamed opera.exe to start menu(Remove opera shortcut in start menu if u have any).

Now on skyfire, If U already have a shortcut in the start menu, move it somewhere else temporarily. Now create a shortcut of the original skyfire.exe. It will go to star menu as skyfire.lnk. rename that skyfire.lnk to vjtarget.lnk then put it on windows. put the original skyfire shortcut back. Now get the vjbrisk.exe and rename it to operaL.exe and put it on windows. Ur all done. Anymore questions, just post it here. If U want a detailed instruction on how to do the skyfire launch, goto post 401.

First off, please excuse me for this noob post...
For someone who hasn't been following the whole manilla2d development, this thread is quite confusing (especially the xda one)... with all the updates posted on the first page, i'm not sure if i'm supposed to just install the files from the latest update-18 or if i'm supposed to start at one of the earlier updates and then add certain files in the following updates after that... the latest update doesn't give very much information on the cab files listed, so i'm not sure how to relate them to older updates. i tried visiting the xda thread, but with the thousands of posts i don't wanna risk using old information for these new updates.
i found a couple different instructions from past updates, but i want to know how to update to the latest version... if someone could point me to useful, detailed instructions or give me some pointers, it would be greatly appreciated. i'd really like to know where to start in order to get the latest, most stable version...

also, i was wondering how much memory and ram this whole thing needs?
thanks and sorry for asking such noob questions... all this is overwhelming and with warnings of needing hardresets and what not, i kinda wanna get it right on the first shot.

U don't have to be sorry. we all gotta start somewhere. Ok,very important in everything U do, U have to backup. not only for this app but fpr any otherapp that U may install.

Ok, update 18 is just components to run M2D. M2d is the main app. It is the UI.the main UI is on the the earlier updates. 17is the latest. Now,different devices, different results. latest updates not necessarily means it's te best(for this app that is)some use update 8 until now coz for them it's the most stable on their device. some use different updates. whatever works best for them.

now, the key is to install the least components possible. the less u install, the faster it will run. some apps in there are optional. these optional app will just make ur phone look like the opal. There is no extra function. these are the examples, volume control, comm manager, large task manager. U do not need this coz ur phone already has these. It will just skin ur graphics and is for GSM devices. Some have difficulty uninstalling those coz it replaces the original files. So stay away from those 3. what u need is just the audio manager and htc album.anything else can be installed manually

If U ask me, i will install M2d main app from update 16 and below. Then install the rest manually. if U r not sure, post ur issue. I will try to help as much as I can.

I fell asleep. LOL . well, the most stable and I think a lot of people will agree is update 8. U can try that then get the components from the latest release.

lol well i tried the latest and it was working fine (except youtube)... then i installed the digital clock and it wouldn't start up... am i allowed to install anything after m2d? i know it said to install those apps from the m2d folder before installing the m2d file, but now i'm wondering if that applies to all programs...
it was awesome while it worked tho lol

edit: or maybe it wouldn't load cause it was the first soft reset after playing around with it and adding the clock...

it should be fine. but if ur installing anything regarding the theme. U gotta exit m2d coz the file is being used. U can install anything even after m2d

haha that makes sense, don't know why i didn't do it that way int he first place... but anyway i still have the problem lol
damn it, i'm doing something wrong then cause i just uninstalled the main m2d file with sktools and reinstalled it. it was working again, then i closed it (by going to the today plugin menu and deselecting touchflo). it no longer said tap here on the today screen, so i'm guessing it was completely closed... then i installed the digital clock again and same thing happened as before... after re-enabling touchflo it would just sit there loading when it said tap, then it would go back to saying tap here again. am i doing something wrong?

edit: come to think of it, should i have reset after disabling it from plugins b4 installing the clock?
