I m new owner of lg fathom. Its an amazing phone but i m missing wifi router feature on this phone .i have tried cm internet sharing but it doesnt works on fathom. I have tried wmwifirouter free as well as paid version but i guess i couldnt configure it properly. I have read pizza boy is using wmwifirouter and its working fine for him . So if u r hearing me pizza boy plzz help me .

Verizon 3g internet sharing doesnt work in gsm mode so... Do i have any othe r alternative ...

I still use WMWiFi Router, but the device you will be connecting to needs to support AdHoc connections. (My HP Touchpad does not natively support an AdHoc connection)
Have you gotten your carrier set up and able to access the internet properly on your Fathom? If so, just make sure you've got WMWiFiRouter installed and run through the initial configuration settings.
Does it ever get to the "Enabled" screen showing you status of the connection? If it doesn't, there might be a problem somewhere in your network config, or in WmWiFiRouter not liking GSM.
I'll do some looking into this as well, but I only have a datablock SIM to test on GSM, so I can't test actual internet sharing.

Hey pizza boy thanxx for the reply. I guess the problem is Adhoc connection . I have a palm pixi plus , blackberry playbook, motorola milestone (android) and no device recognise the adhoc network. Is there any other workaround for this issue ...??

Ps. I can create a wifi hotspot using palm pixi ...it just work with all my device even with my bro's iPad.

The only solution that I can think of is to see if there's any community patch or program to connect to an AdHoc connection. I know there's one for the HP TouchPad, so there might be one for older WebOS devices as well.
Not sure about Android, but it should be able to with a patch or program (possibly rooted) and the Playbook... no idea.

Hey bro thanx for your reply, but i have a question is there any way to patch fathom . I mean any other software. Coz it difficult to patch each device i m connecting to an adhoc connection . I mean if a palm pixi (webos) could do it why cant LG FATHOM (Wm 6.5.3).

I can see what I can find, but there aren't many programs that work with Windows Mobile anymore. It might be possible to patch the LG hotspot tool to work on GSM as well as CDMA. I can look into that too.

When running the LG one, does it error out saying it can't run on GSM or does it just not work?

I had also tried LG hot spot but it is saying the same thing it can't run on GSM. Any solution ?

"3g mobile hotspot cannot be turned on in gsm mode" this is the exact error i see when i try to turn on 3g hotspot feature on fathom

I'm still looking into getting this working, but since I don't use the GSM portion of my phone, There isn't much I can do to help. Alongside that, I've been busy with school, and studies come before phone development at this point.

Why not install WMWifiRouter for this? The newest version is not free but if you look around you can still find the older free version.

Thanxx for the reply but i have tried wmwifirouter but the problem is that it creates AdHoc connection, which isnt supported by most devices...thats the main problem. Therefore i want someone to patch mobile 3g hotspot to work in gsm mode

You mean some devices don't support or can't connect to Adhoc networks right out of the box like some Android Tablets. Many many devices can now and most can be updated so they can connect to Adhoc networks you just have to make a few minor changes like changing the wpa supplicant file.

Yes, what it worked for me, was rooting my android tablet and patching it to support AdHoc networking.
