Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

I've got a new version out that is a 1 click .cab installer.

3 easy steps:
1: go to http://pizzaboy192.com/downloads/ and get the Arcsoft Remover V2
2: Run it on your phone, Soft-reset
3: find the key: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN\ and make sure your phone number is in that key without dashes. If it’s not there, put it in. (EX: 321-654-0987 will be 3216540987 in the key)

Enjoy.

I'm currently using the Touch Pro 2, but I'm going to try this. I'm pretty excited about it!

Re: Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

I kept getting a message that said "Message Delivery Failed. Or Message Receipt Failed." And then asks to retry now or later.

Also in the registry it wasn't x-verizon-mdn it was x-vzw-mdn. Did you put in your whole 10 digit number (555-555-5555) but with now dashes? It's still not working for me.

Also, when I receive a MMS, it doesn't allow me to download or view it.

Re: Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

Ok, I figured it out. I downloaded a different verizon arcsoft app. It has a 3.79 MB limit and it works great. I added my number under the HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN key

I also had to go into MMS Options and GSM Servers and select VerizonMMSc as the default server and it works GREAT!

I will attach the cab, but silly me doesn't know how. :P

Now if I could just get threaded email and email preview working, i'd be doing great.

WMFan85,

Could you post the .cab with the 3.79 mb limit? Click "manage attachments" right below the "Quick Reply" window at the bottom of the page. The button will take you to select a path for the file to attach...

Thanks a lot! 399 Kb is much too small...

Re: Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

To get 3-4mb without needing a new .cab... you can edit the registry some more =)

1. HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE
2. software
3. arcsoft
4. arcsoft mms ua
5. config
7. ui
8. sizelimit
Wap2SendLimit3 = "4194304"

AND...

1. HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE
2. software
3. arcsoft
4. arcsoft mms ua
5. config
7. mm1
8. MMSCSettings
9. SampleMMSC

WAP2SendDefaultSize = "4194304"

This sets the third setting (which is pre-selected when you install the .cab I linked to) to 4mb and ups the send limit as well.
You can do whatever size you want, just put in a bigger number =)

Here you go! This also will thread the MMS with your SMS. I have the no-threaded version also if you'd like that instead.

When I install Verizon ArcSoft Threaded MMS 5.2.12.45.cab

I get message 'You Do not have Sufficient System Permissions

What can I do

Re: Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

You can always try to use my updated patch.
it's at Downloads Page

(It's called "Arcsoft Remover V2)
It shouldn't require any privlages at all. Just follow the rest of the guide when it comes to setting up your MMS stuff.
(I don't know what the MMS Settings are for your foreign carrier, I assumed Verizon would be the ones that would be needed, so that's what's in my pack. You'll be able to Google for your own settings though.)

"Fifth and final step: find the key: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VZW-MDN\ and make sure your phone number is in that key without dashes. If it’s not there, put it in."
That step is all you'd have to do if you were on Verizon, but I don't know what you'll need to do since you aren't.

Hi Pizzaboy192

Thanks for the Arcsoft remover v2 link

I removed the default Arcsoft messaging app
But when I am installing the Verizon Arcsoft Threaded MMS 5.2.12.45 or arcsoftmms 5.0.31.7 us, I am getting the same 'You Do not have Sufficient System Permissions' message

Re: Remove Arcsoft For GOOD from your Fathom.

Great post, man. I'm using a unlocked Fathom with AT&T and removing Arcsoft was the only way I could get my MMS halfway working. Now I can send but when I receive one, it says "message not found". I've attempted to install a newer and universal version of Arcsoft see if that would help, but I keep getting "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient security permissions." I then tried different things to fix THAT to no avail. I'm at my wits end. :(

Sorry to hear that it's not working as well as it should.
I've been working to get a Fathom to send MMS on t-Mobile, so I'm going to be working along side with you.
Here's what I would suggest: Get yourself a task manager that allows you to both see and kill processes. (i Recommend ArkSwitch).
Go to procoesses, and see if Transport.exe is still running. If yes, kill it and then try to re-install the software. If it doesn't install, let me know.

Thanks, dude. I'll give that a shot.

I checked when I ran it this time; transport.exe wasn't running. Still no luck.

I am using my unlocked LG Fathom on Vodafone network in Mumbai (India). I had the same "insufficient system permission" problem. But after killing transport.exe, I could successfully install "imnuts Threaded Verizon ArcSoft MMS 5.2.12.62.cab". However, I still can't send or receive mms :(

After you get the .cab file installed, you need to configure your phone for your network. I have a feeling that Vodaphone is a GSM network. Because of this, you will need the "T-mobile" version of Arcsoft-Be-Gone V3 from one of my other threads here. the T-Mobile version is a GSM variant of my arcsoft sms remover.
Once you get that installed, you should be able to find the carrier data settings online and enter them in your phone. That should give you MMS abilities.
