Lg Expo Impressions
Here we go, first Lg Expo thread. This thread is for ppl who have lg expos and want to say how awesome/horrible they are and prospective owners out there!
Ill start :) Ive had my expo for a good 5-6 days now and i must say it is amazing. Snapdragon does not let down at all. I was worried that he screen was small, and about the small amount of ram, but coming from my touch pro the screen is amazing and so far have hand no ram issues at all! Love it :D , if anyone has any questions feel free to ask away. |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions

Re: Lg Expo Impressions
I tried one out in the telus store (called the LG IQ there), and did like what I saw.
I didn't like the LG software, but what can ya do? Also, do you know if it has an accelerometer? I'm sure it does but... If there was a rom with HTC Sense for this phone I would get it, but as is now I'm going to avoid it. |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions
Sensors: accelerometer(gyro), light, proximity, gps, digital compass and fingerprint scanner
no, as of right now there are no Roms at all, afaik a rom or hspl can not be made until we have a rom from one of the oems or manufacture. |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions
I've had mine for almost 2 weeks now. Trying out SPB mobile shell 3.5 on it. definitely better than the default UI or the LG S-class UI. still trying to find some good apps to make it more finger friendly.
Specs wise the eXpo is definitely great, but doesn't seem like there's a lot of buzz around this phone, people are talking about HTC HD2 or the various Android phones. The thing that bugs me most is the poor battery life. |

Re: Lg Expo Impressions
battery: I'm not sure if that's normal for smart phones or not, but during the first week I have my phone, I play with it 3-4 hours a day to install/uninstall apps and try things out, mostly with Wifi connection but occasionally 3G. A full charge doesn't last more than 2 days.
I installed SPB MS 3.5.3 on it and enabled GL support, it's looking much better than the LG S-class UI or default WinMo one. |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions
jug6ernaut...You should change your phone model in your info to LG Expo :) Glad your liking the phone BTW.

The "Compass" is described in LG's Manual in the "Extras" folder in "ATT Navigator". However, my "Extras" menu does not have either of the "Compass" or the "Record Location" icons. Also, my screen is "AT&T Maps" as opposed to "AT&T Navigator". (Unfortunately I don't have enough posts here to upload a screenshot from the manual.) Am I correct in thinking that this function is only available with the "ATT Navigator" Upgrade? It would be nice if there was another way to release this function. (I could not find a reference to "Compass" in the Registry.) |

"A compass-like indicator specifying your direction of travel, location, and speed." Screenshot of Extras Menu is on Page 83 with the bullet point: "Compass – View a compass showing your current heading." |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions
I will be getting the Expo some time after the contract is up with Sprint ( Done on 2/16/10 ) so maybe on the following Saturday Hello AT&T.

Re: Lg Expo Impressions
I'm interested in the specs of this phone, but tried one out in the store and couldn't stand the software. I think I've been using TF3D / HTC Sense too long to change!
If we get a rom (an energyrom?) for this device I would be sold, but in till then... A question to the people that bought one, how are you finding the build quality? |
Re: Lg Expo Impressions
It's build tought, the slider sound good and better than the hTC Dream or any CDMA Samsung! But i prefere the hTC Pro2....I wait for the hSPL because the ROM is very poor!
