So Verizon has re-released the Kin as the Kin oneM and the Kin TwoM. There is no data plan required, and it looks like they removed some software features of the phone. My wife just ordered one, and I'm just curious what people think?

Have you had any trouble with yours yet? I just got one and within 30 minutes had it locked up :(. Rebooted and has been good so far...

Any chance for customization on these?

My wife got hers, and she likes it, but I'm curious about customizations also? I have a touch pro 2 with a custom ROM, are there any options like this for the TwoM?

Well, I'd chalk the lock up as a one time deal if it's been running smoothly. There's no way to customize these as the OS has been stripped down from the original and locked up tightly. There are a few service menu options but they won't get you any performance gain or changes. I doubt there will be any updates to the phone as the OS has been redesigned to be simple for the feature phone category. There are a few workarounds for ringtones, instant messaging and other things you might normally look for an app to do. The internet browser supports full html so you can go to the sites in the absence of applications.
