Well, just went and picked up a few of these and all I have to say is WOW! I am very impressed and this Ipad has tons more than expected!

If you have one, please lets talk about it. :)

To answer all your ?s ;)

I got wide one for his bday, it just came in today. We went to get another one so I can keep the 4g and he now has the 16g.

More than expected:

After people saying it's not going to be a good one, ha I disagree! Battery life was talked bad about, this has 10 hours of video and were testing that to make sure :) Lots of people said it's just a huge Iphone...wrong! It has built in Digital photo album that is amazing to look at.

What I love most:

We thought it would be just like the Iphone, but it's actually a lot better. Not only size being a nice factor, weight is very light! The response time is better than the Iphone, such as pressing power, it responds immediately. Features are amazing!

Different from Iphone:

• Higher resolution screen
• More viewing options
• Cellular Internet service with no contract
• The iPad offers a roomier virtual keyboard.
• More found at this site

No camera or multi tasking is the only reason most don't like it. That's why we have our other devices for times like that ;)

Agree, all my friends, even though we will always have our Acers, Macbooks, Dells, HP's and more just got one themselves :) We are digital people living digital lives and love our products :)

How do you get non-DRM protected eBooks onto the iPad? I have a real good application that manages my eBook library, regardless of the format (lit, epub, mobi, etc) as long as it is a non-DRM protected book. You can convert to any book format. Also, if you connect any eBook reader to your PC and select the "Add to device" button and the book you selected is not in the correct format, it will automatically convert it to the correct format.

I'm assuming the the eBook format for the iPad is epub.

I've had mine since the 0900 the morning it it was released. Love it!!!! I opted for the the 16GB version. Expendable cash was a big reason I choose the 16GB version. My take....it's an awesome Personal Entertainment Device (PED) . With the pending release of 4.0 it will only take this thing to the next level.

All those that slam it iFail...iFart...iSuck....iEtc....are just naysayers and sometime those individuals are faithful to a fault. If it's not Microsux...it must be an iSux. :) ;)

I'm glad you love it! I've heard so many people now that have said terrible things, and actually put their hands on one and tried to use it, not just put it down, actually changed their minds instantly to I LOVE IT :)

I love this thing! I'm a little bit of an information ***** and I find myself scouring the internet all the time. This is the PERFECT device for that, and now that I have mine bundled to tether with Sprint I'm as happy as a fat kid eating cake!

I'm going to get a good keyboard and the camera connection kit. One thing that is frustrating i found is that you can't add individual pictures to your device. I hate the fact that you have to sync a folder with iTunes and I'm looking forward to using this kit. It will help tremendously when I'm out in the middle of nowhere checking out my deer cams!

I really want a good photo editing app for the iPad but everything happens in good time. My fiancé is super jelous of the iPad and now she wants one too!

I think if your big into the Internet, entertaiment, and photos...this is the device for you!

OK so I've sold my touch so I can justify this toy... I can't get past the idea that I can double the space for only $100 but I can't fathom spending $600... so will I regret getting the 16? I only carried 2gig song data on my touch and some apps, I had quite a bit of room.
I will carry just a few more songs, a movie or two *but nothing loaded permanet, and some games and book apps. Surfing and occasional email.


Also, re: not loading single pictures, could you save an attachment? or no?

I toyed with the notion of buying the 32GB one and ended up with the 16GB. Glad I did with the movie streaming apps and pandora, most of my space is used by apps. I do however have 3 one hour clips of Life in full 720P on it and still lots of room available.

thanks for the input. I dread regretting that I didn't fork over an extra hundred to double up but I feel like it would be wasted non the less.... I really just want it to read books and quickie surf with a few added games.

True that. :) Right now the stores near me only have the 32 and 64.... but I don't have $ until late in the week so shouldn't be a problem to get a 16.

I absolutely love this thing, my friend got me mine for my birthday this weekend and I just can't seem to put this thing down. Definatly an awesome device. I'll post up more when I play with a lot more. :)

Netflix by the way is fricken crisp on this iPad !!

I got mine last Wednesday. I had to order it, none anywhere around to be purchased. I bought mine on Wide and Courtney's recommendation and I do like it quite a bit. I haven't had much time to use it since I got it, other things going on, but from the use I have gotten out of it I was impressed. I don't regret the decision.

yeah I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one now, and jailbreak that beast.

streaming netflix on it sounds pretty sweet, especically because I can tether from my Mytouch (so I don't get raped on the ATT 3G version). Carla and Moonz you may want to try that resolution fix and see what programs it does/doesn't make look better.

Is there a tether way for non jailbroken pieces?

My local Bestbuy had them in stock on Sunday but payday is tomorrow. They have the 32s but I don't want that. I'm going to the actual Apple/Mac store about 20mins away on my lunch break. I called and they are good in stock. Yay.

@eeni, yea I was surprised but I'm so glad I got it lol. 16gb ftw.
I've read the jail breaking this iPad is a pretty much one click process now. I love this thing ;) it'll probably take back burner though once I get a hold of an evo 4G :) . although it defiantly helps keep me entertained till then.

I got the 16 I don't expect to do more than READ, surf, READ, listen to a few songs, READ, and play a few games.... I'm really not wanting to jailbreak.. just cause.

The largest is 64gb

I bought the 64. I doubt I will ever need that. I can't justify it for any other reason then I wanted it, but I am not complaining. I hope you enjoy it. I use the Kindle App quite a bit.

Orangekid it's so worth it :D Wide and I can't stop gamming when we find time. Some of the games you can play your buddy sitting next to you never having to share ipads. ;) Its amazingly fun!

Monopoly, Scrabble and Brain Thaw are my favorites. I have a ton of others, but I tend to play those three. Brain Thaw is rather addicting.

The main one is We Rule :D So addicting for wide and I. Also playing Ihockey ;) You can play each other in the same room using your own device. LOVE IT!

I picked one up on Tuesday, haven't slept since. The battery is INCREDIBLE. I'm getting more like 15+ hours, not the 10 it's rated.

I don't see it as a laptop/netbook replacement, though. The onscreen keyboard is not sufficient for typing long pieces, and carrying around my old Stowaway BT keyboard would not be particularly convenient. (Works great with the iPad, though.) No multitasking is also a problem for the way I work.

As a magazine reader, browser, instant-on device to have around the house, though -- it's awesome.

I have to admit, it's making me a whole lot more likely to consider an iPhone, if one is really coming to Verizon. I've always resisted, because I'm totally Windows-based (been using PPC and WinMob for 10 years).

BTW, what's the point of jailbreaking a wi-fi iPad?
