So let me get this right the ipad is an apple tablet computer? WRONG the ipad is not a tablet computer at all its just a faster iTouch with a bigger screen, which runs apple iPhone OS 3.0,No Camera, No flash And STILL!! no mutitasking so iSay this is pretty much a useless invention thats going to sell based on hype like the *COUGH* iPhone *COUGH* :bs:

Agreed, I am not impressed. As soon as I saw it I just thought, that is just a really big iPod touch. I guess I just don't get any Apple product.

I am a die hard Apple fan and even i <----(see what I did there) think it is a completely useless product. It is the answer to a question nobody asked. I smell another Apple TV like success.

Well I was looking forward to an e-reader type device that could also surf the web. Of course the more utility the better, and I thought this would do it for me. But I will have to look further into it. All I really need is an E-reader, web browser, and keep and view MS office files, as well as pdf's. Oh well, we'll see...

I like devices don't get me mistaken at all...just with a tablet, ppc, do I really need soemthing else? Especially one of this magnitude?

In my opinion it needed their full OS to be good. Like I said in the news anouncement, "If it's too big for my pocket, it's too big for a mobile OS." It also needed at least 2 (preferably more) USB ports and maybe even HDMI output. If I were going to carry something that large I would rather just go ahead and carry a netbook or a full size laptop rather than be limited with the iPod OS.

Well it remains to be seen how well the iPad will sell. The initial reviews have been definitely mixed..

but to say that the iPhone sales are based on hype is a bit naive. It sells because it is simple to use and is very well integrated with itunes/app store. It really really appeals to the segment that it was designed for.

Of course that is to say that it is NOT designed for most PPCgeeks who like to customize and modify their devices to no end. But to say that the iphone sales are base on hype is sort of ignorant.

Yes, Apple markets their products well but not all Apple products sell. Look at Apple TV. It's pretty much a dud. Also the Mac mini has not sold very well either.
