HTC touch tomtom 7 no GPS
 

Here goes, I have spent numerous hours reading posts and trying programs after programs trying to get this tomtom 7 program to work on my HTC Touch with no avail. I have installed astro launcher ; gpstoggle (at least I could see signal when i turned on gps however tomtom program didn't see signal) it displays no gps device. I have tried it with internal gps setting also tried other nmea gps receiver 4800 baud still nothing. I have installed gpsgate 2.6 ; iGuidance launcher(don't get how to operate that pressed the icon nothing happens) installed quick gps and got that to finally work but still hasn't cured the concern. Installed some other program to prime the gps however like gps gate they get stuck on com 4 something about multiplexed. what ever program put in it seems like it doesn't see the gps on com 4 just shows scanning.

I don't know where to go now if anyone has had this problem and found a solution I would be very interested on the resolve.

It should find it on com4 or com0. First, it sounds like gps does work on other apps...correct? If so then unless this software is not compatable with the Vogue it definitely should work. I suggest you uninstall the tom tom software completely. Then place the cab file in my documents in your device memory NOT storage card. Then soft reset and let your device start normally. Wait a few minuites for things to stabalize. Then go to file explorer and go to my documents and click on the cab file to install. Install the app to device memory. Then after it has installed completely soft reset and let your device start up again. Then click on the app to run it and in the gps settings, try first setting the app to let windows handle gps. Then try manual settings. I hope you can get it ! :)

TomTom 7 is 100% compatible with the Vogue as I am running 7.915 which is the newest version ported from the Touch Pro.

I am not sure what the satus of your phone is but it has to be unlocked with coke 2.31 & should be running a custom ROM (NFSFAN's highly recommended). Without your phone being unlocked you probably will never get your GPS working. Follow the step in this thread. Basically to unlock your GPS your are going to have to flash a pre-gps ROM then flash back. Note, follow the instructions & only let the customizations run in those specific steps. Otherwise you will have to start all over.

I have not followed the steps in this thread as my GPS has been working well before this thread was posted but people have had some success.

let me know if it works for you.. cuz i got 2 htc touch.
on one GPS works great and the other one it doesn't work. Just like the way you explained.

just an update removed all programs including previous version of tomtom 7 reinstalled 7.915 loaded the patch(not sure what the patch is for) after and started the program it shows "North American this map has not been activated yet and gives my device id then two buttons activate and cancel and now trying to activate. I used the keygen for the earlier version editing the map meta file however it is not working. Is there a keygen specifically for 7.915 and what map am i suppose to use.

Does your GPS work when you run GPS viewer? As for your question about the Keygen I am not sure if that is a topic for this forum. The keygen is sort of depenant on what version of maps your are trying to activate.
