Cannot get unlocker to work
 

trying to unlock Vogue with pdajunkies unlocker directions.

Using XP the phone connects to activesync fine .

when I start the unlocker 0.41 program, everything goes fine until after the point where I have to unplug and plug it back in. (the phone has already auto switched to bootloader screen)
It just sits there and dowsnt load anything. Also at this point the phone is disconnected from active sync and wont connect while in bootloader mode.

Any ideas?

right you are verzion and you want standalone gps? , try uninstalling active sync reboot and then reinstall ,

yes I am verizon and want full gps capability.

I tried to run the 2.31 unlocker and it did the same thing.

when it says to unplug and plug it back in it sits on the bootloader screen.

active sync does not connect in bootloader mode.


so do I start with 0.40 , 0.41 or 2.31mfg

Do I uninstall active sync and run unlocker without it installed?

follow the steps in the tutorial

you cannot run unlocker without active sync, just uninstall active sync reboot and reinstall active sync then try running the unlocker

Same thing, It will not reconnect after it goes to bootloader screen, and I unplug and replug in the cable.

OK, let's clarify what you want to do here. Do you want to unlock so you can flash a radio+rom or do you just want to get gps to function? The standalone gps tutorial is to just get gps to work. If you plan on unlocking and you want to flash a custom rom and want AssistedGPS then we need to do some different things. When you try to boot the phone, what does it say next to the red R? I ask this cause I want to know what radio you have. The link I gave earlier gives a guide on upgrading a verizon touch. Take a look at it if you haven't. Help us help you.:)

LOL!!You did the same thing that another user just did ! Ali3nfr3ak posted the solution in the other thread. I'll post the link . Here it is :http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1266624 Just follow ali3nfr3ak's directions except at the end after you reunlock with the correct unlocker you can follow the directions in this thread:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=549979 After you unlock with the 2.31 unlocker then you will have to follow the steps in that thread to upgrade the radio back to a 3.xx.xx gps enabled radio and flash a custom rom. in bootloader mode, does it say serial when unplugged?
when plugged in via usb, does it say usb?
if it does say usb, then your comp should be recognizing it.

unplugged serial, plugged in usb but no activity when plugged back in.

I went into bootloader with the first file renamed and in root of formated sd card and it went to a white screen and it says loading...

but is just stuck at this screen.

it acts as if its locked and wont let anything execute(dont I need to run an unlocker first?)

btw i renamed the .nbh file not the .rar

Follow ali3nfr3ak's steps exactly.You gotta flash radio from sd first then rom. Make sure you do it just like he says.:)

did that exactly but it sits there with "loading..." on white screen

I unlocked my mogul with this method, so I have a little experience doing it this way.

Also, what happens when you soft reset? Does it boot up? What does it say? Can you hard reset?

I had to unlock, 1st
then radio
then rom

Oh!!! OK!!Well, you aren't unlocked at all ! OK!I thought you had already unocked with the .41 unlocker. Ok, so first are you using a pc with xp or vista ?If xp you have to have activesync installed and functioning. If vista,win7 you will be using Windows Mobile Device Center sync. Can you not sync? Is that the problem? You definitely want to use the 2.31 unlocker. You should be able to follow the steps in the verizon vogue upgrading thread I posted earlier. You probably don't need to upgrade your radio because you already have a gps radio.

I also am thinking that you are confusing unlocking your rom and radio with unlocking gps. Before you do anything you probably need to go back to stock so hard reset and let customizations run and boot up normally . Get Activesync to work. Then follow that guide I gave the link to Upgrading Verizon Radio and Rom . Again, you already have a gps radio so you are good there and definitely use the 2.31 unlocker.

I already knew i needed to unlock my rom and radio, I also thought I had to unlock my gps since it was verizon.

Anyway, I tried to unlock it with 2.31 and even the dreaded 0.40 and it wont unlock.

It isnt that difficult, as I already unlocked my titan and it was a piece of cake. This should be no different.

Activesync works fine, it just wont unlock. Either by the exe or by installing and renaming on the sd card. This is any version.

I have a dual boot xp 32bit and a 64 bit win7 system. I also have xpmode in win7.

I dont know whats going on, again my titan unlocks and has had the roms upgraded/changed many times. And im using the same steps with the vogue software of course.


I am out of ideas.

Hmm...well it should def work with xp. Maybe Win7 is the problem. All I can say is, an awful lot of people have used those unlockers with great success. The 2.31 should definitely work after you have hard reset your Vogue and if Activsync is working. You can't unlock with those unlockers via storage card. You can flash a rom via storage card after you unlock . You have to have some kind of hardware failure or you are missing a step somewhere along the line. I'm gonna give you a link to codybear's FAQ on xda about unlocking and flashing the Vogue. There is tons of great info in that faq. have you tried unlocking in both xp and win7 ? maybe that could be an issue a dual boot system? also what happens when you put the phone into bootloader and plug in the usb cable?

YES! I got it to work!

I did it on my laptop with windows 7 32bit. no problem at all. What a relief.(not sure why xp didnt work)

I flashed the 2.31, then the 3.42 sprint, then the nsfans 6.5 rom.

However the gps does not work. It says gps is searchng with numbers like (132429955) but says cannot connect gps.

I did the registry edit at the end of the instructions too.
