Help with volume

Hey guys i just got my htc adapter for 3.5mm. its great but the problem is the phone volume. even with s2p and windows media player's own volume at the lowest and the volume of the phone to the lowest, its much too loud. is there any way i can lower it? Is there a program of some sort to lower the volume?

thanks in advance

If you're listening with headphones you could get/use a set that has a lower sensativity. That would help. Or you could try to find a type that has their own volume conrol. lol Usually everyone complains about their device not being loud enough! :)

Frankly, all we need to go either way with the volume is a software / driver level pre-amp to reduce the initial volume or increase it. Unfortunately I've been looking (admittedly not hard enough) and haven't found anything yet to do the job.

You could try this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...1&postcount=69 but you may or may not be able to work their solutions in reverse.

Maybe try a different player app. I hear the Nitrogen player is nice.

Same problem here. Lowest level is okay for outdoors walking the dog, on airplane flight, etc. But when in a quiet place, I've had to resort to plugging in a volume control between HTC to 3.5 mm adaptor and earbuds. Got one that does the trick at Radio Shack:

Hope this helps, MrG

OMG! Hold the phone. Quite by accident, I seem to have found a way to control system volume, making the in-line physical volume control UNnecessary!

Try this...
Start > Programs > Voice Recorder

I'm running the stock Sprint WinMo v6.1, but Voice Recorder is in lots of other ROMs too. Also, since I use a number of players, they are all set to NOT control system volume (that way I can have one level for one player, different level for another).

Had this phone since the day it came out (Nov 4, 2007). Can't believe it took almost 2 years to discover a separate overall system volume control. It's like the desktop volume control for XP (in system tray area, down near the clock).
