Flashing problems

Today i was mucking around with vogue making a rom (WM 6.1 xip sys 21042 M2D mainly iolite oems) and flashing it via sd card when after about the 5th flash the phone decided that it didnt want to be flashed anymore the normal screens during a sd card flash are this... the 2 hardware buttons ( power and camera button) plus soft reset, tri colour screen, white screen with loading.... , white screen with checking os..... , white screen with press power button to upgrade.

mine has decided to sit at the white screen with loading.... , so i take out the sd card reformat (making sure it is fat32) reload the VOGUIMG.nbh and try again same thing, i try this like 10 times (even trying a format with fat just to make sure i have it the right way)

So i get sick of that after about an hour and try the ruu update utility, i active sync , runn the ruu update go thro all the steps and at the actual flashing screen it sits there for 10 mins ( with no flashing progress and then tells me there is a connection error (262) I am running win7 build 7077, so i try this on my vista pc same thing, then i try this on mu xp pc same thing, so i try to flash with my stock rom which is RUU_Vogue_TNZ_WWE_3.00.781.3_Radio_3.41.00_Ship and i get the same result , so i try sdcard again no luck..

the cards are working ok as i can use them in the phone playing music and saving photos,,

so i am wondering if any one has any ideas on what the problem could be

am using a 1 gig sdcard that has been used only for flashing and done i would say about 250 flashes, but that still dosent explain why the ruu update utlity wont work ](*,)](*,) ](*,)

i believe the problem is the phone

Try to charge your battery to 100% on other phone (I know you have one :) ),or use this one,but wait untill you will see the green light
connect your testphone to the regular charger (without battery) and stick stylus (like you do soft resets),unplug charger.
Put the battery back, connect charger and try flash from SD

I saved my testphone few times but its dead now coplitly lol.in my case ,I think,it was a build-in battery problem

ok unfortunately i dont have the other phone ( daughter has moved out ) so i did those steps best i could still no go. left it charging all night green light this morning when i got up.

luckliy i suppose the phone still works, the attempted flash dosent make the phone unusable,

ok after a day of trying differnet scenarios i am still no better off, Am wondering how can the flashing part of the phone breakdown? and the rest still work, maybe the flashing part has a battery and its gone flat - possilbly a bit far fetched that scenario, i see there a just 4 star screws screwed into the back of the phone to cover the circuitry i might see if i can get that undone , i cannot see it being oem becuase surely that wouldnt interfere with the phone software when it is in bootloader mode .... i dunno......](*,)

I actually fixed this problem lol after spending 400 dollars on new one...so in case anyone else has this problem, i was having communication error 262 as it turns out this is related to the vogue unlocker somehow getting corrupted, so i relfashed 2.31 unlocker and i can now flash my phone again.

unfortunatley this has happen to me twice where i have thought i have bricked my phone and i have actually brought 3 okta touch ( htc vogue ) worth about 1200 dollars ( NZD ) , So if there is any lesson to be learnt from this its this USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, B4 being impulsvie

No, he said it was his unlocker. RE-UNLOCK YOUR PHONE IF YOU RUN INTO THIS! Apparently caps help people read the important parts.

Good find, too bad about the cost of discovery! Cheers brother
