Radio Upgrading
 

Hey,

I have searched and searched and searched. I have tried to learn, but a good starting guide for someone like myself, coming into this sort of stuff late in the game, is hard to accomplish.

Basically all I want to do is upgrade my radio so I can run the new android port. I have none, nada, niente experience with ROM upgrading or anything, so I don't know if I can do this.

Is there a way to just upgrade the radio, safely? I have the current 6.1 release from Telus, obviously untouched.

You guys will have to spell it out for me.

I am on verizon & not sure if the steps would be the same. The last thing I would want to do is have do something that might screw up your phone. You need to serarch & read.

Search and read are the keys here -

basically, search for the unlocking thread as you will most likely need to unlock the phone unless your carrier has a newer ROM than your currently running as it will upgrade the radio then (maybe check your carrier)

steps are

1 - read and learn
2 - unlock
3 - flash the needed radio update (say a bell radio 3.42.50 for example)
4 - flash ROM you want to use
5 - add android
6 - wipe hands on pants
7 - donate time or money to charity
8 - collect karma
9 - enjoy your phone
