how much tethering
 

what is a reasonable amount of tethering before it starts to raise eyebrows? once in a while i may go out pf town on business, and my laptop does not always work with the provided wifi, so lets just say i web browse for a few hours a day for 5 days, and that would include some youtube, msn ect. how much data would that use?

from what I've read that won't be a problem at all with Sprint. I don't know if the scene has changed in the last year.

According to a rep I spoke with when I got my tp they would like you to stay in the 5gb limit. I've had a friend go over it once and he just got a nice phone call to "tone" it down a bit. Just stay under the 5gbs and you shouldn't be bothered

I've gone for 10 gigs of data in a month, but wasn't in roaming, I think it is a rolling 3 month period with Sprint too, so keep that in mind.

I'm on Sprint and I've never had an issue. Usually I just use it for browsing when I am on the road but once I was without an ISP for a month and I did something like 9gb of transfer. They never said anything but it was just the one time. I had downloaded a few big torrents I think ;) Either way I've not had any issues and when I just use it for browsing on the Amtrak or whatever it doesn't rack up too much.

haha thats nothing i use over 15 to 25 gigs every month roaming or 1x but mostly roaming and no charge been like this for a year and 9 month

I use my touch and my diamond....and combined use bout 9 gigs a month... I live out in the country so dsl and cable are not a option...been tethering for 4 years now..but i watch my usage..lol i did have a data card but when they put the 5 gig cap in place.. I converted the data line to a voice line..then got sero...so I pay 60 a month for 2 sero lines and 10 gigs a month for my net usage...and have rev a...but ya with sprint u never know when they might strike so just be careful

Been tethering for years, always go over 5gb usually like 20-30 here is from last month a week or so before the end of my billing period so it got a little higher.

Have you heard of PDANET, its a great program cost around a one time fee of 35.00. does not use any of your minutes, i have used for two years now , give it a try
