transfer garmin xt
 
I have garmin mobile xt working on a 2gb. i bought a 4gb card can I jusy copy the files over to the 4gb card. or do I have to re-install

don't really know which version of windows you are using, or if there are any hidden files, but as long as you make sure you are viewing hidden files/folders, you will be able to copy everything over to the new card and it will work.

I'm pretty sure you can't just copy it. The install is tied to a unique card identifier.

I know with the 'purchased' version of Garmin XT that comes pre-packaged on a card you cannot do this.

However...I was taking the OP's original words...

...to basically mean that 'he got it working' not that he purchased it pre-installed. I've never used Garmin's Mobile software, but from what I've been told it is do-able.

To the OP... since you already have the 2GB card with Garmin installled, and per your post, purchased the 4GB card, why not just attempt it and let us know if it works or not?
