Dropped my Sprint Touch in the tub !! BAH
 

Okay so tonight I was taking a bath and my dog (big Lab) comes to investigate what I am doing and proceeds to tail whip my phone into the tub. Well its def broke...luckily I have insurance through Asurion and have dealt with them quite a bit.

Well I was really looking at getting the Touch Diamond or Touch Pro soon because I am SO SICK of my phone only holding a charge for 8-10 hours because I use it FREQUENTLY for work. So anyways my question is do you think I could talk Asurion into replacing my Vogue for a Touch Diamond? What approach should I take? If I have to I'll just get a new Touch and sell it on ebay or something and buy a Diamond. I just need a phone :| right now Im using a Treo650 and its driving me INSANE! I just don't really have the money to buy a new phone as I'm not eligable for an upgrade and just moved into my Apartment and spent a ton of money on necessities....like Surround Sound and Xbox games hahaa

Hate to break it to you, but unless you have a assurion employee having a good day, I doubt you will get one, I recently broke the screen on my touch, and had it replaced, and i was going to try to get a diamond out of them by making up crap thats wrong with the refurb i received. Luckily, my second phone around the refurb they sent me was great, it had the good screen (like verizon can be seen from all angles) and seems to hold a charge longer (with whosdaman manilla rom).

I tried to do see if I could upgrade to the diamond thay said we do not upgrade or downgrade phones...what bs
if you have any probs with the phone before say that and just see what can done fight a lot lol ask if you can get the 50 bucks waved I

If you are worried about your battery then you need to stay with the Vogue because the Diamond and the TP both have battery issue's I have both and can personally attest that the vogue will last longer....Also I'm fairly sure you are not going to get a upgrade from a Insurance claim so just sit back and wait for your refurbed Vogue to come through!!!As for your eBay approach you are still going to be paying atleast $150 out of your pocket. I would just be happy if you get a replacement after water damage, TEP may or may not cover this but...Be Happy with your Vogue!!! Believe me its a great device....

Why is it you people think it is unreasonable that you don't get an upgrade?
You people bought insurance for a replacement phone, not so you can get a new model every year. You people are so unreasonable. I remember when I worked as a salesman for 2 years, I had to deal with idiots like you.

no need to be rude. why is it ridiculous to want an upgrade if you have had the phone for 1-2 years plus and something goes wrong with it? if we have had insurance for that long we would have paid enought for a new device already.

+1. Couldn't have said it better my self. I've had my Touch since the day after Sprint released them and I've been total happy with it. Just wish it had a VGA screen, other than that, I wouldn't change a thing about it. Esp since there's no way to use my 8GB card in a Diamond...

BTW, I've heard it's not impossible to get an upgrade, but usually your phone needs to be EOL'd by Sprint and all refurb stock depleted.
