**Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
When i first got my htc touch in 2007 i started using the sprint email "push" email but it wasnt that good but found it was powered by seven. I did some research and started using seven more than a year ago it has worked perfect throughout the whole year with 8-10 seconds push. I have replied to many push email posts on here and I ask why are people still not using seven. It supports up to 5 email accounts, I have done a comparison with my wifes bb pearl from verizon as another post on here and people still use the check every 5 minute option (which drains the battery) , and mail2web where u have to forward your email to a mail2web address. Please reply with your reasons why you do not use it.
to find seven i will not post direct link but you can google seven push email P.S. i know i posted an issue with touchflo but it is does not affect sevens push performance just a gui issue with m2d. This is the only reason i would see why a person wouldnt use seven, if anyone has a fix for it please reply with it thanks |

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
Use FREE exchange server hosting from mail2web.com
It is WAY better than Seven but does the same thing without the need for extra software. Check it out. (I don't work for mail2web i just love their product) |
Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
Seven won't work with bellsouth.com and some att.com accounts. According to them att (who also owns bellsouth now) has them blocked.

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
I have been using Seven for about a month now. I like it for the most part but it is a little slow opening when it notifies me of new mail. I had tried using Sprint Mobile Mail and it messed some things up so I started using Seven.

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
I hear people saying seven lagged their system, but how about the battery life?
|
Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
i have no issue with battery life using seven i get a fullday out of my battery the only real battery killer i use is beejive so i only sign on when i need to speak to someone on aim quickly

Re: battery life
It lets you limit the time of day that you want push email active. I limit mine to about 15 hours, and there is minimal impact on the battery, if any. |

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
I'm in a very rural area where service is in and out many times also switch about 3-4 towers where I travel (work, home, shop ect) if data is acitve and it looses signal it screws with my phone bad, slows it to a stop and sometimes it won't recover even soft resets. I've had to hard reset a few times from it and more than once was from using a push client. I now set my mail to manual send/receive along with everything else that relys on data, have to protect myself because of the signal :???:

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
I use Windows Live for push email. I only need one email account and I don't need my emails sent to me instantly so I'm happy with it. Good thing is that there's no software to install as it's already included in the ROM.
I tried Seven before using Windows Live and correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to give them your username/password to all the accounts you want setup? Anyway, at that time, it was having problems with my yahoo account so I gave up. I also tried mail2web. I would probably be using this service over Windows Live if only they would change their email domain to something other than mail2web (<yourid>@mail2web.com sounds lame to me). Downside is that if you forward all your emails to the mail2web account, then any replies you make from those emails will have your mail2web email address instead of the address of the account that the sender sent it to. But, it's free and it syncs your calendar, contacts, and email over the air which is what I like - no need to sync with computer anymore. |
Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
Seven rocks for me. No slow down at all. Perfect in my book. Add Goosync to the equation and I have a total cloud solution that just works.

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
For all you seven users, do you not experience a ~7 second delay when trying to open your email inbox? That's what I'm seeing.

Oh...lol...i misread, I'm sorry. i thought you were talking like it takes seven seconds to receive the message from the time you send it.

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
I use seven everyday to sync my work Lotus Notes email with my phone (works better than mnotes imo). If you haven't tried seven in the last 6 months, try it again. The newest seven winmo client is quite good. The delay opening mail is only sometimes... generally if messaging isn't already open. Not a bit deal for me, but I could see how it would annoy some people.

Also, for those using seven, have you found a way to get rid of outlook on your messaging list? I'm used to swiping over from my text messaging screen to get to my email but now its just a blank outlook screen. I'd like to get rid of that, if I can.

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
Can anyone explain the difference between the Sprint Mobile Email, which is powered by Seven, and the beta software Seven is distributing for push e-mail?
I tried the Seven beta software, and it mostly worked as advertised. I say mostly because I'm currently trying to track down a problem that started (I think) after installing Seven. So now I deleted Seven and reset my phone to see if the problem reappears. But I hate giving up the push feature (I'm using Google Apps mail for my domain). Is the Sprint Mobile Email worth trying? If it works, and it's a free download, why isn't everyone using that? Thanks for any advice. |
Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
i was using the sprint email but it doesnt allow for more than one email and for some reason it didnt perform as well as far as push time it would take a couple of minutes. If the problem you are having with seven is the issue with touchflo, good luck i spent days trying to resolve this issue using different builds i cant find the answer to which build of m2d seven works with.

Is there something else referred to as "sprint email"? The only problem I have with Seven, is if I launch the app once, the next time I launch it, it never appears. I have to soft reset to get the app up again. But, even if I cannot launch the app, it still does push in the background, so I might just live with it, since I don't need to launch the app all the time (to configure / add accounts / etc). |
Any Solution for Groupwise?
Is there any application/service out there which works (wireless calendar sync mainly) with Groupwise? (I don't mind paying for it once, but monthly payments is not what I am looking for)

Re: **Why isnt everyone with a wm phone using seven push email?**
With all the praise that Seven's got, I expected way more. In terms of features, there's basically nothing to it. It doesn't let you enter any information when setting up an account. I need to be able to specify a different address to send as than the one that is used to log into the outgoing mail server. You can't even specify a name that people will see when they receive emails from you. It's annoying that the accounts are accessed through pocket outlook, but I can't modify the settings in there like I can with an account that was created in pocket outlook.
Having push email is nice, but without the features that even the plain vanilla pocket outlook has, I can't use Seven. |
