Temporarily disable SPB shell w/o uninstalling?

Is there any way to temporarily disable SPB mobile shell without uninstalling it? I'm in the demo period right now and not quite feeling the love for it yet, so I want to try out a couple of other shell enhancements before making up my mind. Ideally, I'd like to be able to compare them (more or less) "side by side", before the demo period for SPB's program expires.

I'm afraid to uninstall it, because I have a hunch that it will cause the trial period to end immediately instead of ~10 days from now if I do. On the other hand, I know that Bad Things usually happen if you try running programs like that simultaneously with similar shell extensions (if nothing else, they end up fighting over the gestures).

If you turn of SPB I think your clock will still run on the trial. I suggest continuing with it until you are tired of it and then uninstalling it. You will not be able to have another trial version if you have run out of the 15 days. I think you can also uninstall it and then reinstall and your clock will stop then start again. A hard reset will set the clock back to 15 days.

You could also uninstall it, and then a few days later reinstall it to see what happens to your trial clock.

The clock will still run on the trial wether it is on or not, imdarkside is correct.

if you go into the settings for mobile shell you can turn off the option for the now screen to come on when coming back from sleep mode, then unselect it in the today screen options.

But the trial will still run out even if setting idle.

What sort of enhancements? On the today screen you can change the number of tabs (max of 6), you can change the Now screen between classic and professional, and outside of changing the overall theme of SPB there's not much else to do.

Changing the theme can give you a few extra perks, etc. But really what is it that you're trying to do?

You can also load other themes built here and on xda for added enjoyment. See this link for over a 100 pages to entertain you for awhile. Its been awhile but from what I remember you have to extract the files into the appropriate spb file and reboot to get them to work. They are fun.

If that doesnt entertain you for 15 days then switch to another theme like this one:

Then play around with md2:

and there's more behind door #3>>>

have fun!

Well, I ended up uninstalling it outright a day before it expired (I've had WAY too many apps trash my PC & phone by expiring before I uninstalled them, and left me unable to easily undo one or more customizations they did along the way), and decided to give Winterface a try.

The verdict: not nearly as pretty as SPB Shell, but Winterface seems to work a lot more like the way I want it to work than SPB Shell did. Even after using SPB Shell for a week, I felt like I was endlessly fighting with it and constantly drilling down menus to do things that I wanted to be able to do with a single touch from the 'now' screen. The fact that SPB Shell refused to put an icon for Opera Mobile in the 'internet' folder was the final nail in its coffin. Winterface isn't perfect... but it comes the closest of anything I've tried so far ;-)
