Dialer help needed Please!

Hi,

I tried to install a dialer today, but I accidentally downloaded a .cab that's a diamond one I think, seems to mess up my phone screen and I can't un-install it.
Same goes for the transformers dialer file in there, won't remove.

How can I get back to ANY DIALER that's not messed up and smart contacts works? :(

Buddy if it won't uninstall you have 1 choice left backup your info and hard reset....You could always pick a new dailer and try installing that first though...

Is there no way I can do some registry edit to get it to go back to the default dialer?

Not that I know how to do reg edits, just heard the term here many times!

Also, once open I can't close the phone App any idea how to close it?

End key maybe. No there is no Reg edit for that.

Sometimes if you delete the program from remove programs, click no when your asked if you want to remove the name from the program list then soft reset then reinstall the program, when you check the program list again you'll find it's gone.

If you try to install it again, it will ask you to uninstall first click yes then install again and it should be gone. worked a couple times for me!

But then Re-install something you don't need... just backup and hard reset and you could be runninig normal in 15 mins tops.

I need to re-install everything I had on there if I hard reset right?
can the active sync connection restore most of the programs after a hard reset?

I back up weekly, I'll do it now to get ready...

I'd try installing another dialer to see what happens. If all else fails, I agree with Hoover, a hard reset starts you over. It can be a pain to hard reset the first time but after that you get to kindof like it. You get a chance to rebuild your phone from scratch.

SK Tools allows you to uninstall and completely erace installed programs to both the files and regestry. I had a few that the builtin program manager could not remove and SK Tools took them right off and wiped out any trace of them.
