backlight always on powersave.
 

I don't know what happened not sure if a program caused this or not. My htc touch cannot change the backlight brightness when on battery. When I go to the setting and change the brightness, it shows that its on a different brightness, but it is not reflective on the screen brightness, and remains semidark (powersave).
Brightness works fine on external power.

try making your settings then soft reset...

I have the same problem. Started after I uninstalled SBP Mobil shell. I am trying to figure out what is sucking down my battery after just 6 hours, down to 50%.....
