Data Connection problem.

I have been using a touch flashed to Metropcs for about 6 months, recently the screen gave out. Rather than replacing the screen I bought a newer one running wm6.1 omj generic rom (all sprint stuff gone). Here is the problem, the data connection is always going. I've got the arrows going back and forth on the top all the time and if you tap on the arrows it will say "connected to metropcs" . Sometimes the arrows are white sometimes they're grey. I can shut it down with connection manager, but when the phone connects to retrieve emails, it will just stay connected until I manually disconnect again. I never had this problem with the other phone and the major problem is, it won't retrieve my emails if the data connection is already going. It will give me Error synchronizing incoming mail server or since I have it checking my gmail and aol email every 30 minutes it won't download them until I stop the connection , than hit send/receive. I thought it was activesync doing it, but I shut everything down with taskmanager, and its still connected. My battery also drains within 10 hours which is a bit less than my last vogue. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance

Re: Data Connection problem.

In your messaging(where you see all messages) at the bottom there is a menu soft key. In it there is mms options. Click it. There should be to boxes. 2nd one is Auto disconnect(well thats what it does)
make sure it's checked. You should be good to go!!

Thanks for the suggestion Ken. I checked that and it was already selected.
It might have been a network problem because it just starting working again yesterday by itself.

Also know that when your arrows are greyed out, there's no data being transmitted
