Email auto-configure for servers that don't support auto-configure?

I'm not sure how the auto configure works. Is there some way I can set it up on my mail server (it's a shared hosting account)?

Or, is there a .reg file or something I can use on my phone to quickly configure a mail account?

My phone has that issue where outgoing mail just stops working, and I have to re-setup the account almost daily. It works for a few emails, or it might actually work for a few days. But I ultimately have to re-setup which is unacceptable.

Provisioning is the term.

These guides should work (even though they're for WM5, I can't find docs for WM6):
