Opera 8.65, Google search, google links?
Here's the scenario: Using Opera 8.65, I open up my igoogle page, conduct a search, get the search results page, and click on a link. Instead of getting the actual webpage listed in the result, I end up on a page that starts with the http://www.google.com . . . and ends with the .html of the page I really want. As if google was acting as a proxy. Which, by the way, I don't want. Did I mess something up in "settings" in Opera 8.65? Anybody else have this problem?
BTW, I have the updated Sprint stock ROM. |
Re: Opera 8.65, Google search, google links?
Unfortunately, I can't seem to duplicate this right now, but I've seen it before on Firefox and IE on my desktop. This is Google's issue and I know of no Opera settings that either cause or cure it.
For comparison my current Opera settings are: General -- Home page: \Application Data\Opera\startpage\home.html (the default page) Identify as: handheld device Block Pop-ups is checked Minimum font size is 10 History -- Cache size: 2000 KB Network -- All security protocols checked Misc. -- All options checked |
Re: Opera 8.65, Google search, google links?
The only difference in your settings and mine is that my home page is my igoogle page. I suppose I could try to use some other search engine, but I'd have to deal with the google police, coming to my home in the middle of the night and . . .
Thanks for confirming, however, that I'm not crazy. |
