need a free skype alternative even a callback program for vogue running wm6.1
 

i have unlimited canada and us calling with skype
but skype doesnt work nor does fring on wm6.1
what alternatives are there?
even if there a callback one so it only eats local minutes when i call long distance

i use nimbuzz on my Touch and Mogul. It receives Skype calls like regular calls (through the actual phone earpiece) and even rings when you receive a call. It also allows outgoing calling using the data network and your skype minutes.

I remember that IM+ for skype does this exact thing. I tried it once and was confused as to how it works, but I believe it reroutes calls through your skypeout by calling recipient and calling your number. tried nimbuzz and the internet call worked although i was supposedly a little quiet
but audio was through back speaker
if i tried my bluetooth headset it gave audio through it but either they couldnt hear me through the mic or one friend said it was very very quiet almost not noticeable and sounded like a chipmunk

the callback feature wouldnt work at all

and the internet call ate skype credit on a call to a canadian number which doesnt make sense i have the unlimited Canada/US

I have nimbuzz. I use GrandCentral to call canada, though. www.grandcentral.com - there is a dialer on xda that allows you to dial from your phone and have it ring you from the grand central site without having to use the web interface.

So basically you use the dialer to call others using the grandcentral number? How are you calling canada though? Can one make long distance calls using grandcentral?

GrandCentral GC gives you an online phone number. You then register any phones you want to that number. When someone calls your GC number, it rings all/some of the phones you registered, depending on your setup. You can also call out with GC - this is what you are looking for. GC allows you to click to call from your website address book, and when you do this GC calls your phone, and after you pick up calls the number you are trying to dial. It can dial any number in north america. The GC dialer that you linked to is simply a front end for the click to call service on the website, making it more convenient. Many people use GC to get free incoming/outgoing calls by registering their GC number with their cell phone carrier for services like My Favs, Sprint-to-Home, etc that allows unlimited calling to a specific number (or a few numbers).

I'm a GrandCentral member, but as far as I can tell, they are currently closed to new members, with no indication of when they will re-open for new registrations.
