can I send a fax from my touch?
 

thought you could send a fax from the touch but I can't seem to figure out how to set it up!

You need a service like efax that allows you to email a fax.

I also would like to know this same question, is there any way to use the number # to send direct to another number#. It seems like it would just take the right bit of software to do this.

If it's not possible, could somebody explain why???

Fax machines use an analog modem, the touch doesn't have this.
You have to use an online fax service. This is very easy to use, you basically can send an email with an attachment to the service and it will send the fax to the recipient.

I haven't tried it, but I found this for sending free faxes.

I just tried it. The cover sheet has their Logo on it as advertising.
When you send the fax they send you an email that you have to respond to before they will send it.
It seems to work fine for a free Fax service.
