Sprint HTC Touch currently activated!
 

Hello,

I won a HTC Touch (sprint) in a local auction. When I called Sprint to check for its ESN # they told me that this phone is currently activated. I'm a Verizon costumer and tried to unlocked it to use it in my network. I got some advise and tools in how to do it myself and I think I did it pretty well. So, I called verizon and told me that they could not activate the phone for me .... I don't know what happened!

After my first attempt I just decided it to sell it on ebay or something.
My questions is:
Can this phone be activated with a different Carrier like Alltel or Verizon even though Sprint says is active?
It is very weird because the phone does not make any calls... Please call you service provider!! that's that message that I recieved evry time I try to make a call.


Any ideas?

what happens if the phone is activated with a carrier and the person never cancel his account and just gave the phone to charity. Can it still be activated with another carrier without been deactivated from its original Carrier and difficulty to contact its original owner.... because the owner never be reachable?

once the esn is in the system as active it cannot be activated with any other carrier because this is an CDMA device the only way to do this is to change the esn of the whole phone. i believe there is a program that does that. but it is illegall to do that.
