Super Regedit Cab-Updated!
 

I took the liberty of compiling all sorts of regedits and making a cab out of them. This cab should increase internet speeds, overall device speed, fix and resize the sprint picturemail sentbox, increase screen sensitivity, battery hacks, and many other mild improvements which make the touch run a little smoother. This has only been used on a sprint touch rinning 6.1 but they should work for most phones.
PLEASE BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE INSTALLING! I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DEVICE.

As with all regedits install wait a minute or 2 and then soft reset.

UPDATED- much cleaner install/smaller file size/more universal install

Yeah, can we get some kind of list of what the tweaks are? I would rather not just install things like this blind on my Touch.

All of the viable tweaks from the registry thread of this vogue section and a couple more that I found out such as the picmail fix. I don't have time to write everyone out but I think people will be satisfied with it it took awhile to make.

tried install on blind faith but was promoted with install unsuccessful message
running stock 6.1

Yea im not sure why it won't install Im going to try to fix it but until then the list above can help if people want to change it manually

Also some unnecessary nested operations, before the registry edits.

I am not familiar with MOST of what is in the file, but I thought I would try to help cleanup the xml. I did not try to install, so I can't say for sure if it works.

The attached is actually a cab file, with a zip extension.

Again, I didn't review the xml in the setup file, so I am not responsible if it does something unexpected ... heck, he may not even install, because I didn't try it.

boggsie's installed just fine for me. I'm not exactly sure if everything took. But, it did install:) Just remove the .zip so the file reads registry.heartisall.cab and it should install just fine.

i installed this last night and i did notice a speed increase of the phone and the internet. does it do anything for the battery life as well?

I have had a few tweaks, like a clear square window keeps popping up and the colors are acting up. Is there anyway I can uninstall this??

I have notice some increase in the speed of the phone, however, I also have had the same square box appear every time I open or navigate to a different program. It has been quite annoying. Is there anyway to uninstall this program?

after installing my oem task manager crashes and my dialer is gone. No caller id either, and...... oh yeah the annoying white square. Guess it gives me an excuse to try a custom rom...

I installed this on my US Cell Vogue. The net does seem faster, but I'm concerned that there is NO uninstall option. While I appraciate the effort I think it wisdom to either make an unstall CAB or have the resitry fix show up in the add/remove panel. The danger of hosing the phone REALLY scares me.

Gee this also needs a list of changes to show what it all does. The registry txt file reads like greek. Sorry if I sound critical, just want this to be user freindly. This is a great phone. You shouldn't have to read the repair manual to drive a BMW.

Well, this cab appears to have housed my Touchflo. I really need what info this fixes in the registry so I can undo it. In a word, HELP!!](*,)

Seeing the other post's on the board, I'm thinking that the level of ppc understanding is above average. So I'm thinking this is kinda of below the level of people here. Am I right in thinking this? I just don't want to miss-interpret what is going on here, so if I'm wrong, let me know. Having been on EverythingQ forum for over a year, I was kinda of expecting people tripping over each other to help.

Well, as fair warning, the man did say USE AT OWN RICK. Be prepared to hard reset to fix any problems you may have, and risk hosing your phone. This may not work properly on all phones. Use ONLY if you don't mind possibly having an unstable phone.](*,)

Ok yes he did, but hes not keeping up to date or doing what everyone asks so we know if it will mess up our devices or not. We need a list of carriers this is compatible with, of the actual registry edits themselves. He is not being specific at all, just kinda threw it up and said have fun, youre not getting any support out of me. So do what the public demands and SET UP A LIST!!

First of all ... why would anybody try this unless they were getting ready to re-flash there phone anyway? C'mon guys. Everything we do here on PPCGeeks is risky but this one is way over the top. It looks to me like the original poster meant well but didn't understand the risks.

I looked in the CAB file and it makes a ridiculous number of changes to the registry. see the attached text file. If you already ran it you would certainly be better off to re-flash your phone than to try and regedit the changes back out.

Thanks so much for taking the time to document this. Like I acknowledged, the author did say USE AT OWN RISK. I guess I'm a bit jaded when I read this. In over 10 yrs I don't think I've ever had a problem with any PPC registry tweaks. I find that most of the time they work as advertized/or are easy to un do if they don't. I realize that things are kinda of the cutting edge here but my past experince on other boards and PDAs created a false sense of security. To be fair, 99% of the cab may be great but that one percent bite me this time. I will use a little more cautiuon when it comes to these thin gs in the future.
Thanks again for taking the time to document this tho. MY Phone is less than a wk old, so I'm not ready to flash it to one of the custon roms yet. Just getting the feel of the land so to speak.

I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone this...but make a backup before your install ANYTHING that has even the slightest potential to trash your phone.

Always be careful and alwasy understand the risks involved anytime you're messing with your phone.

help please
i have it installed on my htc pro strint and it is fast but i have one problem the talk key dont work and i dont have a dailer now so i cant call anyone new. is there a fix for this?

Ouch Panther. My only suggestion is to go thru the text file and find any keys related to the dialer and restore them by hand. The only other suggestion is a hard reset (ouch I hate those) and see if that fixes the problem. Anyone else have any suggestions?
