Questions about XV6900.

1. Where do I install GPS software?
2. How is GPS software user experience compared to TomTom?
3. Is signing up for data plan mandatory with purchase from Verizon?
4. Can I scribble notes in it and use it as a digi - notepad?
5. Can I connect remoteley to my PC and play Crisis?
6. Will I be charged for remote PC connection?
7. Which is better XV6900 or iphone?

Please if you know the answer then you can post,
but please refrain from posting if you have only something negative/trolling
to say. If you don't know the answer then you don't have to post.

Re: Questions about XV6900.

Obviously the Vogue is better...IPhone just has the larger touch area that we all covet...now
1.GPS depending how the program in the form of a .cab would be installed to my documents then just run the .cab soft reset and you will find your new program in programs
2.Tom Tom is nav really it cost you money to install "unless you're sneaky" and there are a ton a GPS programs out there for free.
3.Sorry I'm with sprint but I do not imagine that it would be.

BTW it has built in GPS reciever transmitter? When you install software you just use it as you go and no have to pay for service?
Is it counted as a roaming time?

Yes it has a GPS chipset... and as long as you are using freeware either provided by your carier or through a site like this then your straight watch out for data usage though...

1. GPS is locked on VzW version---you have to install a cooked ROM to activate the GPS. See the Vogue upgrades forum.
2. I use free Google Maps or Windows Live Search. Never used TomTom
3. No, but if you don't and want to use any data--you have to pay as you go, and that gets really expensive.
4. Yes
5. You mean as a modem for your PC (to play online). Yes, but there is a cost to do it "officially", or you can use a program (one time cost) to do it unofficially.
6. See above.
7. YMMV--each has its strengths.

It looks like another "would be" great product crapified by greedy Verizon,
that lock all the features that I'm looking for :-(
