receiving data without data plan

now i would guess that this would probably go in the sprint section if there was one, buttt we have three vogues in our house with sprint service. none of them have a data plan, one is running dharveys rom, one is running wdm's manilla rom, and one is completely stock. since flashing the rom the phone running manilla is receiving full data, while the other is not. the one running dharveys rom let customizations run while upgrading radio for 1/4 of a second because i had trouble getting to the soft reset button lol, but the other manilla rom was flashed perfect and now it gets data. anyone have any ideas as to why this is? before the roms were flashed none of them received internet, and we do not pay for data.

im going to guess and say we are getting charged for this, but input please.

I'm with Alltel and dont have a data plan. I'm not actually sure if I had it before my custom rom flash but I was told by Alltel that when I go online with my phone it will use minutes in my plan. So if I ever go online its always after 7pm and on the weekends. So far so good I have not been charged any fees or anything.

I'm 100% positive that you will get charge for it. Hope you got the money to pay for it because it can get really expensive without a data plan. I once put a data block on one line(LG Rumor phone) and somehow the block did not work and I was charged over $80 for it. Luckily I had comments under my account that the block was put in placed and also got an email confirming the data block so I was able to get the fee removed.

Yes, I have Sprint service. You might have better luck talking to retentions in getting the data fees dropped/waived. Regular CS will usuallly get you nowhere.
