Keyboard Switching Delay

Hey guys, I've got a major delay of about 5-6 seconds every time I tap the little triangle to switch the keyboard. I use the Vista Keypad for texting, and the Vista Qwerty for everything else. So I switch back and forth on a regular basis.

My problem is, having to wait 5-6 seconds for the window to pop up, so that I can choose the other one. Is there any way to fix this? ](*,)

I'm not sure if this is the fix for you however it's worked for me with my Vogue more then once...The following background is cut from XDA.... For me, a simpler process then described is that I used Total Commander and copied CLSID to the clipboard (right click on CLSID and it's an option) and then simply pasted back and overwrote the original CLSID area. Let me know if you have any q's. Seem's odd but it really works.

The following is found at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ame=ProphetFAQ .

I did the copy method of CLSID to my storage card and then cc'd it back. Took all of 20 seconds.

For those not in the know, make sure you have a backup if you try this.
Prophet FAQ

Soft Input Panel (SIP) Delay

Problem:

When changing input method, clicking the arrow takes many seconds. Usually, after installing Voice Command, the delay can be 10+ seconds
Solution:

re-write the CLSID key in the registry (I used Resco Registry Editor.)
  1. Find HKey_Classes_Root/CLSID and Export the whole key
  2. Save it as CLSID.reg in My Documents or Storage Card
  3. Select CLSID, delete all.
  4. Select Menu -> Import
  5. Find the CLSID.reg file and -> Open
  6. Close the Registry Editor, Done!
    • Variation: Rename the CLSID to CLSID2 and Import then delete CLSID2
  7. Wait at least 10 secs, do a soft reset ( I think that is optional ).
4/Jan/2008: the above procedure works on HTC TyTN II (aka Kaiser) running WM6 Some findings:
  1. there's no need to soft reset after the final step - the effect is immediate! I'm extremely grateful.
  2. this procedure could be summarized as Rebuilding CLSID
  3. the alternative approach of renaming CLSID to CLSID2 is highly inadvisable - it costed me a hard reset! Moreover, the "main" approach was far quicker
  4. this procedure improves system speed in general, since CLSID is used by quite a few system functions, to give a conservative estimate

I found my keyboard switching menu was delayed after installing TimeTracker MX. Do you happen to have this program installed?

No, don't have that one. Also, my issue was a delay of like 20 seconds or so which was what the original poster on XDA was also fixing. BTW, did you happen to try the fix mentioned to see if it would help? If you're handy with Total Commander or Regedit it only takes a minute but if you're not comfortable messing with the reg you can mess it up.

Haven't tried it yet. Just got back on here. I'm at work, so it's going to be a bit before I can tinker with it. I'll post back and let you know if it fixed the problem. Thanks

Okay, that is so awesome! I had to use SKTools Registry Explorer, cause I couldn't find the registry in Total Commander. I made a back up, then I exported the file to My Documents and saved as CLSID.reg. Then deleted the CLSID folder in the registry explorer, then imported the CLSID.reg file from My Documents.

Couldn't do it the easier ways, but this worked. It's instant now when I press the triangle. It's wonderful. I don't even remember it being this fast when I first got it. Thank you so much!
