ROM Update Problem
Alright well I made a stupid mistake. Now I don't know how to fix it...
I was trying to update my Touch just to see if the ROM would make it a little faster or if it would help at all. I left the phone and computer running doing the update. Then after about 7 minutes I come back and my phone is only showing the red, green, blue and white lines on it. I cannot go anywhere from here and have been trying to fix this for a while. I tried re-running the update process to see if it would install on my phone but no luck. Now I am stuck with those colored lines and can't use my phone at all. How do I go back to my old settings? ](*,) I can't live w/o my Touch! |
Re: ROM Update Problem
Try to hard reset your phone (Call Button + End Button + reset hole)
If that doesn't work.. Then pull out the battery, press the reset button. Put the battery back in, and press (Power Button + Camera Button + reset hole) to enter bootloader screen (Red, Green, Blue, White screen. Load a ROM update (preferably an official one) and connect the device to the computer to reflash! |

Re: ROM Update Problem
I am getting error[328]: Invalid Command. It says the update utility cannot be used with my phone... and I am still stuck in those friggin colored lines! I can't do anything and I really don't want to lose any of my data. Is hard reset my only solution?:(

Re: ROM Update Problem
hard resetting will erase all personal information in your phone, the reset button is the small hole on the bottom of the device to the right of the usb port (use your stylus to push it in)
if the hard reset doesnt work try this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24906 i had a similar issue once related to the unlocker, just make sure you dont let your battery run out because it wont charge until you have a rom of some kind on there, so keep your battery out until your ready to go |
Re: ROM Update Problem
Error 328 means you need to run the Cokeman's unlocker before you flash the rom. I had the same error a few days ago and after unlocking everything flashed perfectly. Whenever I had the problem though my phone would automatically restart after I received the error so I'm not sure why your still stuck on that screen.
