hmm, there are 3rd party manufacturers of usb headphones? i would just buy a usb to 3.5mm adapter and then get 3.5mm headphones...

I am trying to eliminate the need for carrying around more adapters. It has the 2.5 mm adapter and I have a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, I just don't want to carry all that crap around with me.

1 Attachment(s)
Here's what I carry. The adaptor is usually banded up with earphones, pulled out so you can see how little extra 'crap' it actually is:
Attachment 14004

It's been almost a year since I got that adaptor, along with 6 or 8 others that I use for other set-ups (car, office, living room, ActiveSync, travel,...). But, here's something close if not the very same item:

my adapter is similar but doesn't have the 90deg usb piece. just a straight thru one that I leave perm. attached to the headphones. :)

I got a usb earphone from amazon for about 4 bucks not inc s&h. It works fine. i no longer use the splitter that came with the touch. just punch htc touch earphones and you'll get lots of choices. for less than $10 you cant go wrong.

Why stick with USB? I wanted to reduce the amount of adapters too, so I
went bluetooth.

But, they don't fold well (not at all).

There is this though:

Wow Price has really dropped on those s9's. Here are the bluetooth headphones I use, really it's just two headsets but the sound is great and can be controlled on the right headset. These Actually stay on while running/exercizing. http://shop4.frys.com/product/525133...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I debated those Jabra ones while looking. I wasn't so sure they would stay on while riding my bike/exercizing.

Also, I think the S9 is being discontinued. I don't know if the S9HD is replacing it, or if it's always been out too.
But it's just my guess why the price is going down.

Anyway, didn't the Touch come with a mini usb headset?

yeah I have a s9... got it like a year+ ago... I use it all the time, however, the right side eventually started to crap out cause I sweat like an animal when im at the gym. I did have a warranty on it and got a new one.

Everyone says they can hear me perfectly, I can hear everything nice and LOUD. It worked pretty good with my 6700 but works amazingly with my 6900. Acutally I plan on getting a Bluetooth laptop and bluetooth speakers. The only time i need any cords is when i sync/transfer files. I feel that this is the best for me.

p.s. - i did have the adapter for like a week when i got the phone, however, i lost it. never needed to use it since.
