Is there any way to have specific ring tones for each person or certain categories on the HTC touch?

Only way i know of is through a program called mRing. Not sure if there is a free alternative.

yes, goto contacts highlight a contact and hit menu then edit and scroll down to"assign a ringtone" that should work. it even lets you preview the ringtone!

That's what I do, works just like it should. It's built into your contacts, no need to use an app

Learn something new everyday. I liked that app because it would also allow you to set individual text message ringtones for all your contancts. It also lets you silence it with any key press.

negrito, i found this out by accident. lol one day mom called with weird ring and tried to find out why. back when i had push to talk nextell. sometimes the simplest solution is the best.
