Error 1012 ( Data Provisioning Failure) after upgrading to OMJ's Rom... =(
 

Rom Flashed: OMJ.3.03.04.Generic.Custom.exe
ROM Version: 3.03.651.4
Radio version: 3.42.30
Cell phone: Sprint MP6900SP Touch

I have the following numbers: MSID, MSL, MDN, AAA shared secret hex.
- Had stock rom/radio prior to upgrade.

Situation:

1. Unlocked with ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker.
2. Flashed to Orginal Sprint Rom (as said in OMJ's post)
3. Flashed to OMJ Sprint 3.03.04.
4. I get Error: 1012 Data Provisioning Failure when trying to access internet.
5. Can make/receive phone calls.

Things I have tried:

1. Multiple hard/soft resets.
2. Reflashing OMJ's rom twice (hard reset afterwards).
3. Changed registry "EnableCurrentUserName" value from 1 to 0. 'Device Information' was showing (myESN@hcm.sprintpcs.com) as mentioned in this post.
4. Changed 'User Name', 'AAA Shared Secret Hex' in ##3282# to what Sprint said.
5. Changed MDN (phone #) and MSID (different than my own #) in ##143125#.
6. Client-Initiated IOTA numerous times in Settings --> Phone. Get same error,1012 every time in response.

I have simply run out of solutions and frustrated ](*,). Whatever I do, I can't get online. At one point, I couldn't even receive/make phone calls until I entered the MDN & MSID number in ##143125#.

What should I do???

1. Re-flash the stock sprint rom, radio and everthing. Let customizations run.
2. Once the handset has rebooted, open internet explorer to connect to the internet.
3. Open your dialer
4. Goto Menu -> Options
5. Click on "Services tab"
6. Select "internet" and click "get settings"
7. Make sure you are connected....Step #2
8. Click "start" and let IOTA run
9. Now you can flash whatever rom you want...

Give that a try...

I reflashed to Sprint orginal rom and checked to see if internet would work. It surely did. I then went into ##3282# and checked to see if any values changed. Everything was updated. Username was actually what it should be.

I flashed back to latest OMJ and everything works.

I was wondering what happened to ya... It's great to hear that you got it working!

Edit: You only have to go through that mess when you update your radio btw... :)

I had to step out a bit to pick someone up from the airport. I didn't want to mess with my phone even more to the point that I wouldn't be able to receive/make calls. That would be tragic!

What's a good GPS software?

I use GPSToday (now w/geologger, geotagger, geotracker, and geoweather) on my today screen, now with current temp...yeah!, and I usually use Google Maps when I'm playing, and Live Search when I want to find something. And in the car I use my Garmin Nuvii 200w...I like to use uni-taskers when it comes to electronics. Except for my touch... Just search and you should be able to find those programs I mentioned...

How do you force provisioning if "internet" doesn't appear in Phone, Services?

I dont have internet under this menu tab. Getting error 1012 when trying to update profile and cant access anything internet based. Touch Pro. Please help. Sprint tech supposrt is not giving me any luck.
