Need help with HTC weather

Hi all! I am using the default weather with my touch and it does not have my city. Now i've seen a few posted on here saying you just add it in the HH file under the WINDOWS dir. But nothing ive seen is very helpful. If someone can give me a short walkthrough as to how i'd achieve adding my city id be much obliged.

With a little more detail...

Install the latest HTC Home Customizer (HHC). I have attached it for your convenience. Then do the following:

1. Open HHC.
2. Choose the Weather tab at the bottom.
3. For Database Type, choose Custom.
4. Add the City, State, Zip Code, and Country in the correct fields below.
5. Click the Save City to Custom Database button.
6. Click the Save soft key.
7. Click the Yes button to Apply and Save.

When you check your weather, you should be good with your city's forecast.

Re: Need help with HTC weather

You need to install the Home customizer and then edit the HH_409.xml file with your city' information. You can get that from the Accuweather website. After editing make sure it's saved and then do a soft reset.

Re: Need help with HTC weather

is this before or after the ROM update. It doesn't work for me after? The weather worked fine and then I put Home customizer back on and now the weather doesn't work at all.

Give me a list of your cities, I am working right now on making a custom database of many cities in the USA. I have already taken away all foreing cities and I have added 400 other cities that are located in the USA, but if people can give me a list of a few other cites with the zip code, I can add those in there to. Thanks

okay thanks for the request, keep them coming, I am going to try and get this out there has soon has I can, but right now with working 60 hours a week, plus college, it leaves little time for sleep, and let alone doing this. But keep the request coming, And once I get this out there all you should have to do is replace 1 file in your windows folder, and then you will have all of your cities.

I updated the link, go to that page, and then download custom cities, and you should get your file.

Re: Need help with HTC weather

guys guys guys!!! the method you use works but it's the method that was done two years ago. it's outdated and it's a pain in the butt. i keep seeing threads about this old method and it's making me mental.

the newer method is to replace the current HTC home with a patched HTC home (HTC Home 2.1). then add the customizer (HTC v10Final) to add anyplace you want.

that's it. simple.

step into the new age of technology people geez.
