Extracting background image from theme file (.tsk)
 

Hi,
does anybody know of a way to extract the background image of a theme file (usually .tsk). I have a background that I want to put as my welcomehead.96 file so it loads the same picture as the background.

I believe you can use ThemeGenCE to open the theme & extract the images....I havent used in awhile, so I can't remember exactly how.

Rename theme.tsk to theme.cab and run it through your favorite OEM making machine....

Hey thanks a lot for the response, unfortunately I dont know of any OEM making programs nor do I have the know-how to do it. However, I did download themegencee as per OMJ, and I was able to extract the image by dragging and dropping from a save window (kindof a wierd way to extract). Its not quite the same as my background image (in terms of quality it seems) but I think it will do.

You can put the .tsk on your phone and activate it. While it is your background, go to \Windows on your phone and find tdywater.gif & stwater.gif. Those are the images that are used for the theme.
