How do you register a program into the dropdown?

Hello,

If I got a program that is simply an .exe (no installation required), how can I add it to the drop down list of avail. programs so I can assign a launch button to it?

Thanks in advance.

Only thing I can think of is either put it in the "program files" folder or even the "windows/programs" or "windows/start/programs"

Other than that I am not too sure how to. Maybe somebody else with have a better answer for you.

With Total Commander, highlight the file. Click File -> ">>>>>" the create shortcut. This will create a link for your program. Then copy your link to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\whatever.lnk

Now it will show up...

there's a program called sk shortcut manager that makes the whole process pretty simple. http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sksmgr/m_sksmgr.html
