active sync trouble
 
just got my touch today and dled activesync. However when i connect my touch to my comp though usb, when they try syncing, this error message comes up..

"You will be able to synchonize only files, folders, and other nonoutlook items if you continue.
To synchronize email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes with this computer, do the following: disconnect the device, install and run outlook, and then reconnect the device and complete the synchronization setup wizard"

do i have to install outlook on my comp or phone or something? if i do, where can i DL it at? thanks

Your getting that msg because you dont have Microsoft Outlook.
I believe that you can get a free trial from Microsoft, and of course you can always buy it...
Other alternatives to obtain Outlook, cannot be discussed in this forum, but bottom line is....

You Need Microsoft Outlook to sync email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes

oprac i haven't cleaned out my PM inbox lately, so just post in the forums if you need further help...

If you are not using the phone for work related time management, you don't need Outlook. You can still make calender, task entries on your device.
