What resolution should a backround image be?

I'm wanting to crop a photograph to perfectly fit my XV6900's screen without any stretching or anything being hidden.

What resolution should the finished product be to avoid anything being covered or any stretching?
Thanks in advance!

240x320 is the native resolution for the HTC Touch.. I suppose they are the same screen size...
Good luck...

That's inclusive of the top and bottom bars though... if the image is that resolution, the top and bottom bars would cover part of the image, correct?

you need to make it 240*266(about) play around that size and see what you get
