help process of installing new ROM

I think I have JD's ROM version which first introduced GPS and REV A. What are the steps to getting the new stock ROM installed?

Device Information
ROM version 3.04.671.2
ROM date 04/09/08
Radio version 3.37.10

fayfay asked the right question.. if you are trading it in for insuranse purposes you may have to downgrade, which can be dangerous.

thread about dangers here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26082

Regardless of what Official Rom you flash to, all the official roms are windows executable files and all you need to do is download, activesync, and run the program.

After you have the rom, you may need to relock your phone.

why would I have to downgrade when there is a new official ROM out? Also I thought the phone locks by itself when installing an official rom.

install the new official ROM from the HTC website. it'll be re-locked and just fine for you to swap out for insurance/warranty purposes... i did it july 18 w/ sprint

do I have to run an unlocker first or can I just install it over what I have now without any problems?
