I bought my Touch on July 18th and the first thing I did was the upgrade, so I have no basis for comparison with the non-upgraded Touch... but I'm VERY happy with the upgraded version... especially the GPS function.

Yes, the GPS is great! Of course I had to tweak it to suite me!

I like it but when i have GPS in use my Keyboards won't come up, there's no icon in the middle bottom, so that's a tad annoying, everything else awesome. I wouldn't go back, the GPS adds so much to it i'd deal with a lot more annoyances to keep it.

I have a Touch and have tried multiple times to upgrade to the Rom update and keep getting an Error 262 at 29%. I have tried multiple macines, Vista and XP, made sure no application was running, everything. I have convinced Sprint to change out the phone to see if it something with my particular phone. Any other suggestions?

I have works great, except for that my GPS only initializes when it feels like it

/cry

Anyone have any advice? I already changed GPSmode to 4 in the registry...I didin't think I'd have these odd problems once I switched to the official release :(

Been using it sine it came out. Can't complain as I really wanted that "Official" gps feature. Well, GPS is ok and I don't have any complaints otherwise. Can't say I like the threaded sms, but I'll fix that soon enough.

Can you please explain why you wouldn't want threaded SMS? This makes no sense to me....

Been using it for about a week now, I like it. No "evil gremlin" problems here. :)

I too have been using it for few days. My issue with the GPS is that it's not accurate at all. I have iguidance 4.0 and google maps and have tried using both with GPS using turn by turn directions to my office. Both failed miserably, after locking in some sats, it would move along as I traveled, then pause for several seconds and then catch up, then pause again and ultimately freeze my Touch. This happened with both programs. I have not tried any of the registry hacks yet.

Any thoughts?

What's v.A?

Do you mean 3.03.04_2?

Don't know what to tell you but I just don't like it that much. Perhaps I've not used it enough but I kind of liked the old mode a little better.

I have to say it's pretty handy if you are conversing with more than one person at once...

I liken it to IRC versus IM... IRC is all cluttered, and IM is nice and organized...

Perhaps because now you can not delete a single message. or because you cant mark messages as unread anymore. or worst of all, you cant just forward a message. you have to cut/paste.

I delete single messages all the time. Go into the conversation and press-hold-delete, or use the d-pad to highlight the message, and hit the right soft-key and pick delete from the very top of the list.

Forwarding hasn't been an issue for me, becuase most of the time it's inappropriate to forward a message... but if I ever did need to, copy/paste isn't that hard, and gives you flexibility..

still, I agree forwarding should be an option. as well as mark-unread.

What? when i press and hold in a 'convo' all i get is copy which is grayed out, or select all. and if i click the right soft key 'menu' delete is grayed out.

I can select a message with the d-pad and then the menu gives me the option to either delete or forward. But press-hold-delete doesn't work for me either.

So what is in the Menu when you select the message (when it's all light blue)? My selectables are Delete, Forward, My Text, Save to Drafts, Spell Check, Close and Message Options.

Negrito 08-02-2008 06:17 PM

Re: Has anyone upgraded to the Official Sprint ROM v.A yet

I cant select individual messages in a conversation at all. And now i just realized i cant even highlight the text of the conversation... If i tap inside the conversation then the dpad just moves the conversation up and down. and if i try to press-hold it wont let me highlight any text but i can drag the conversation up and down. How weird is that??

When you hit up or down on the d-pad it doesn't select a message in the conversation?

Re: Has anyone upgraded to the Official Sprint ROM v.A yet

No, it just scrolls the convo up or down. and i cant remember if it has been this way since i upgraded to the official HTC rom. i think so though.

No they havent. i am on the official 6.1 and have been for about thirty minutes so far this session, but i will spend most of the day tethered to my MacBook. I have been noticing my disconnects are happening more frequently, but i think its cause my account is past due... Or the fact i used 9GB of data last billing cycle...
