Sprint Touch tethering with Lenovo Thinkpad problem
Anyone is using Thinkpad to tether with Touch? I have successfully tether with Touch using the mods here, there's one problem I could not solve. Since the "internet sharing" configuration uses "automatically get ip & DNS" so basically without messing with the internet settings, it can get online, however the Thinkvantage Acess Connections cannot manage a profile specially for windows mobile device. When my phone is in internet sharing mode, the computer can detect the phone as a internet sharing device, if I set up a new profile at this moment it can be applied normally, it would be showed as "wired ethernet". But when the device is disconnected, the profile I set up just now will change to ethernet only, only the ethernet card would be listed in the device, but the windows mobile device disappered. If I tried to use this same profile to connect, it would simply tell me ethernet cable unplugged, connection failed.
Anyone knows how to use access connections to manage tethering device, please give me some hints. Thanks. |
Re: Sprint Touch tethering with Lenovo Thinkpad problem
I don't use access connections to manage the bluetooth connection on my thinkpad. I just go down to the bluetooth icon on the lower right and double click it, then my phone shows up with dial up networking and I right click on it and click connect. I don't specifically put my phone into internet sharing mode - on verizon it's called "Modem Link" - I don't use that. I use the dial up networking bluetooth protocol - see this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=23522 , post #12. I do use access connections to manage my wireless connections, just not my bluetooth dun. Hope this helps.
