Restoring to "stock" with new ROM... do I need to "re-lock"?

So like many here, I've been installing ROM after ROM on my phone. At the moment I have the "just barely pre-release" version on my phone. I've been having a lot of problems with the phone, some ongoing and some more recent. At this point I believe my best bet is to install the new official software and--if any of the problems are persistent--take it in for service. At one point I had installed DHarvey's ROM, and then after a few more, the pre-release leaked rom. To install the first ROM I had to run an unlocker... do I need to do anything to remove this unlocker/relock the phone before I can take it back to Sprint? If I do, do I need to do this before or after I install the official software off the site? Any input or reassurances would be very helpful, I'd prefer to not get nailed by support when I try to take the phone back. Thanks!

Alright cool, and that's good enough to get the phone exchanged or serviced within warranty? Thanks!

So do I need to run Cokeman's unlocker again if I want to install a custom ROM? I just ran the new HTC upgrade.

Yes that is crrect to run a GPS-enabled custom rom flash the 1.31 unlocker. For warranty purposes I always flash the .4.0 unlocker then the Official Sprint Rom and im good as new. All stock. Hope this helps.

Im glad I ran into this thread. So does installing custom roms change the radio? cuz I heard bad things about downgrading. I have OJM or was it JD's GPS Rev A rom from a few months ago and my phone is locking up and think I need to go back to stock rom and exchange my phone. I just don't want to run into any problems when I take it back.

No custom roms usually never change radio. To get the newest radio available check the new official sprint rom.

yep they'll swap or repair it as if you'd never done anything to it... that's assuming there's nothing physically wrong like the litmus paper under the batter cover indicating water damage or something of the like

No no no....2.31 will not relock and niether will .41

If you wish to relock your phone follow these instructions I posted here...

But in Step 3 you might want to run the new Official ROM if you want that instead ;)
