MusicID and Tagging
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, or even the right category - but I'm hoping someone would be able to put this together.
Right now I use MusicID on my touch and I LOVE IT! It can pretty much recognize any song and I use it to 'tag' songs for download. What I would love is for someone to be able to create a program that could use MusicID to tag the songs I have currently on my touch and fill in the blanks as far as artist, title, album...etc... Is this possible? |
Re: MusicID and Tagging
I just move them to my Windows media player on my computer and have it find the artist and title, then move them back.

I know WMP has the option to grab artist and title, just never seems to work for me... |
Re: MusicID and Tagging
are you guys using the smartphone version or a touchscreen version? i'm using the smartphone version and it works but would be nice if there was a version that utilized the touchscreen. please let me know if there is a touchscreen version. thanks

Re: MusicID and Tagging
This is strange. Taking a break from reading posts in this thread, my eyes happened to fall upon the banner ad for FixTunes that happened to be at the top of this very same page. Just in case it's not at the top as you read this, it says:
Automatically fix your misspelled and incorrect song details and add album artwork to music. No typing necessary. It's automatic. Free download. www.FixTunes.com Anybody tried it? |
Re: MusicID and Tagging
Any time I rip a cd to my computer, or move ripped songs to my computer and play them with Windows Media Player it works if you're connected to the internet.
Nice catch on that tixtunes, i'll try that out when I get home. |
Re: MusicID and Tagging
Wow - it looks like that fixtunes is EXACTLY what I'm looking for - lol. I'm gonna try this out - hopefully it does what's intended.

Re: MusicID and Tagging
Well let us all know how things turn out with FixTunes... it looks like it's got potential. What limit is it on their site for the trial version?
As for me... I'm currently using: MP3tag. Not too bad... did a good job starting out with getting everything going into some decent order. Now it's all about the minor tweaks. |
Re: MusicID and Tagging
it seems that fixtunes works great until you get newer songs everything pre-2008 seems to be recognized just fine but not updated on a regular basis
