Has anyone extracted the PPST.exe file out of the Official Sprint ROM? After upgrading I went through installing all of my programs and tweaking it, I wasnt thinking and for some reason installed the .cab that had an older version of PPST, now I'm not getting locks as quickly as before. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Here is an OEM for the one that comes on the newest rom. You can extract the exe out of it.

Personally I flash roughly 15-20 times on average per week, and I have never used ppst and get gps locks quickly and no problem. The only time I may have was when upgrading the radio, I flashed the whole sprint package and let customizations run completely, then flash whatever. I have never went into \windows and ran ppst.exe, I just don't beleive the hype. :)

I havent really had problems getting locks either, but I had a cab that is posted on the forum in my memory card, and when I was installing everything after loading the new ROM i mistakenly installed it, and ran the .exe. Thank you for this file it is appreciated.

If I may--- Flashing 15-20 times a week means that you barely have a ROM on for a few hours... Now, with me, I start having GPS issues after about 24-48 hours on most ROMs, without running PPST.

Until now-- running DHarvey's 2.9... I haven't run PPST, and I am still getting 5-10 second cold locks, and inside bottom-floor apartments, etc. I believe it's due to A-GPS actually working...

but on every ROM, including the official Sprint ROM, I would still lose GPS after a day or so, and even quicker if I didn't run PPST at all...

wow! that's 2-3 times a day... every day.. if you're awake for 16 hours, that's about every 6-8 hours you're flashing..

haven't found anything you're absolutely content with yet?

I'm having a similar problem. My GPS locks in a few seconds. Then if I go inside and lose the signal, it doesn't start again. So it seems that after a an hour or two, I lose GPS.

Interestingly, a soft reset brings it back.

I know theres a 42 page sticky on GPS, but if anyone ahs any ideas I am all ears. I'm on the official ROM.
