Help!!!!
 

I need help with my new HTC Touch (Vogue)! This is my first PDA phone and it is supposed to work with any network, or so I was told. I was just wondering if anyone could help me get it up and running for AT&T/Cingular? I would appreciate any instructions at this point!

Does it say sprint or verizon on the phone? Sprint and Verizon uses CDMA network. While ATT/Cingular uses GSM network. Find out what your phone is capable of.

It is GSM. It doesn't say sprint or verizon either. I got it from china and they called it a Dopod S1 they said that it would work with At&t. I triple checked before I purchased it.

I'm not too familiar with GSM networks but don't you simply have to change sim cards to get the phone working?

I can tell you for a fact its not gonna work with any network in the United States. (As of right now that is) Right now the only two carriers that allow the use of a GSM phone is AT&T and TMOBILE.

Never tried it myself but I would just change sim card, or call AT&T.

I thought that all I had to do was put the SIM card in. Everything works except the mms/picture messages. I will continue to research it though.

Your phone is a ELF. You need to contact your carier and get there internet and MMS settins. then program the phone that way. The easiest to deal with is T-mobile. They have a Dept. set-up to help you with this. With AT&T its tougher. They don't have a Dept for this at all. But the settins you need for them is the same as their Tilt phone. But when you call them they play stupid. So you have to talk the info out of them. Just remember you need the settins for the Tilt or the Wixard. The model of the wizard is 8125. GOOD luck

Thank you! Yeah I have had to deal with them like that before! It is just because they want you to buy a phone from them and not outside.
