Space gained - preinstalled apps w/ kitchen

Ok, hopefully this question makes sense. I used the kitchen to cook my custom ROM for my xv6700 long ago. I hope I remember correctly, but by installing all of the apps that I wanted by using the kitchen, I was using space that was not open to apps as a regular cab install. Because the amount of memory available on the xv6700 was pretty small, I remember that opening up the locked memory was really cool and allowed maybe 34MB extra???...

So my question, is there hidden memory on the xv6900 that we are tapping into with the kitchen for custom ROMs now? If so, is it a pretty decent amount? Even after all of my 3rd party apps (almost all installed directly to the phone) I have 57 MB of space left. If I cook my own ROM will I benefit from space not utilized or will it be a waste of my time to reconfigure my whole phone for nothing.

Ok, hope that makes sense.

The 6900 doesn't have an extended rom. I used to be concerned about memory, but the 6900 has more than enough! Now I'm more concerned with when I flash...How long will it take me to be up and back in business!
If you filling your phone up with stuff from the kitchen to where memory is a concern, your cutting performance and just loading apps to have them.

edit: in my own semi-packed rom, I have 54.18mb in use, and 79.11 free...

Sweet thanks. "Extended ROM" is exactly the term I forgot. I have 57MB storage space free and 64MB program space free. I think my performance has been great with this phone and have all the apps that I need.

Amen to that! Now that I have played with my ROM some more, all I have to do is copy my alarm mp3s and be on my way! Oh and sMMS... we need a OEM for that lol
