##778 Did not work - in a pickle now-HELP
 

I flashed my XV6900 last night and could not make calls. I tried *228, but did not work. So, I called VZ and they tried, but when dialing the ##778 to get into the programming menu, it dialed out instead of going into the menu.

Now they are sending me a replacement phone. Questions:
1. Has anyone had this issue?
2. Do I need to do anything to the phone I am sending back so they don't charge me for the replacement if they see I was flashing it?
3. Is there a way out of this so I can keep my phone?
4. I think the mistake I made was when I installed the unlocker, I let the Sprint customizations run (I was too late to stop it-aaargh). Is there a way to undo this?

Please help ASAP as they are sending a replacement today - will arrive tomorrow.

I would try and revert the phone back to its factory state as much as possible. That takes downgrading the SPL and the Radio, which is risky. It could brick the Touch. Then you'd want to Flash the factory Verizon file which will relock the device.

It's the dialer. Some of the dialers prevent us from using the phone codes.The newest vogue dialer will work with Sprint but that's all I know. Also make the carrier was installed properly.

I just re-read your post and have the following advise..

Just flash back to a stock verizion rom (make sure it's the correct one.) Of find the DCD carrier cabs over at xda-developers.com and install it.....I don't think it has anything to do with unlocking and everything to do with letting Sprint customs install. Good luck.

Ditto, he took the words right outta my mouth. Your dialer is pizzle-sprung, flash to stock & try again!

I have been trying to get the right DCD or Verizon ROM, but there is so much info out there about the 6800, it gets confusing. Can anyone point me in the right (and quick) direction as to how I can flash back to a stock or semi-stock Verizon ROM and get it back to where I can either return it to VZ or use it without the Sprint customizations?
